Get a first look inside rehearsals for The Huntington's The Light in the Piazza, a contemporary musical based on the novel by Elizabeth Spencer, with music and lyrics by Adam Guettel, book by Craig Lucas, and directed by Huntington Artistic Director Loretta Greco (The Triumph of Love). The Light in the Piazza runs from Thursday, May 8 – Sunday, June 15, 2025 at the Huntington Theatre.

Dove Cameron will make her LA Opera debut in The Light in the Piazza, running from October 12 through 20, 2019, at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. She will play the role of Clara Johnson, a young woman with a long-hidden secret that threatens her hopes of finding true love during a summer vacation through Italy. Opera superstar Renee Fleming will portray her mother, Margaret Johnson.

Leonard Bernstein was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts. He took piano lessons as a boy and attended the Garrison and Boston Latin Schools. At Harvard University, he studied with Walter Piston, Edward Burlingame-Hill, and A. Tillman Merritt, among others. Before graduating in 1939, he made an unofficial conducting debut with his own incidental music to 'The Birds,' and directed and performed in Marc Blitzstein's 'The Cradle Will Rock.' Then at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, he studied piano with Isabella Vengerova, conducting with Fritz Reiner, and orchestration with Randall Thompson.

The pre-Broadway engagement of ROMAN HOLIDAY - The Cole Porter Musical, is premiering as part of SHN's 2017 Season this summer. Newcomer Stephanie Styles and Broadway favorite Drew Gehling (Waitress) take on the iconic roles portrayed by Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck in the classic film, and Tony Award nominee Jarrod Spector (Beautiful) and TV and stage star Sara Chase ('Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt') round out the principal cast.

Tony, Oscar and Golden Globe award-winning lyricist Tim Rice is coming to Auburn, New York, this summer for the North American premiere of his new musical based on the novel by James Jones, 'From Here to Eternity' as part of Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival's 2016 season. Rice is best known for writing the lyrics to THE LION KING, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, ALADDIN, EVITA and more. Rice will be in Auburn for rehearsals. The show premieres June 29 and runs through July 20 at The Merry-Go-Round Playhouse as part of The Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival's 2016 season.  Check out the trailer below!
