Houston's newest theatre company, The Garden Theatre, brings the Sondheim classic Into the Woods to the MATCH with a fresh, imaginative take on the celebrated musical. Reimagined with a cast of ten and set in a library during children's story time, the production will run October 22-31, 2021 at Midtown Arts and Theater Center Houston (3400 Main St.) in the heart of midtown.

The Joffrey Ballet's Ashley Wheater MBE, The Mary B. Galvin Artistic Director and Greg Cameron, President and CEO are pleased to announce the addition of four dancers to the Joffrey roster for the 2021-22 season: Brian Bennett (Lanham, Maryland), Blake Kessler (Jacksonville, Florida), Yuchan Kim (Seoul, South Korea) and Miranda Silveira (Barcelona, Spain). With these new company members, The Joffrey Ballet has expanded to 43 dancers representing 13 countries.

Lessons for Diving by Silas Parry, directed by Matt Steinberg will be workshopped 19-24 July, with showcase on 24 July and performed by Sebastián Capitán Viveros, Patrick McNamee and Dan Wolff. This will be followed by Kristian Phillips' Drift, directed by Matt Steinberg and performed by Tom Rhys Harries, workshopped 26 – 28 July with the showcase on 28 July; and finally, Boomerang by Jack Stanley will be developed 29 – 31 July, with the showcase on 31 July, directed by Jude Christian. Showcases will be at the Jerwood Space.
