Choreographer Lorin Latarro has joined the creative team for the Broadway production of Waitress.  With her addition, Waitress is the first Broadway musical in history where a traditional four person creative team of book writer, composer, choreographer and director have all been women.* Latarro replaces Chase Brock, who choreographed the pre-Broadway run at the A.R.T.

RLT's Teens to Present RUNAWAYS

In the 30th year of Teens On Stage / Teens Backstage, RLT's summer conservatory presents the musical 'Runaways.' This groundbreaking devised piece highlights the decision-making process and varied reasons children decide to run away while exploring the substitutes they find to deal with the loss of family. Written by Elizabeth Swados based on interviews she conducted with homeless teens, the initial Off-Broadway and Broadway runs culminated in five Tony nominations and one Obie won for Best Direction in 1978.

Jess Goldstein, Douglas W. Schmidt & More to Receive 2015 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards

Tony Award-winning costume designer, JESS GOLDSTEIN (currently represented on Broadway with Jersey Boys and On the Town), and scenic designer DOUGLAS W. SCHMIDT are among the 2015 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards recipients. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, May 1, at 6:30pm, at the Hudson Theatre (145 West 44th Street). Mr. Goldstein was selected to receive the 2015 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design and Mr. Schmidt will receive the Robert L.B. Tobin Award for Sustained Excellence in Theatrical Design.

Introduced by Professor Louis Leonini, Gatti and his company-Broadway veteran PJ Nelson, and community theater veterans John Mangini, Charles Milo and Al Pica-will perform songs in tribute to Dean Martin and Connie Francis, along with Broadway classics, excerpts from operas, and a preview of Gatti's upcoming cabaret show, "PJ Plus 4."

Diane Lane to Lead David Cromer-Helmed SWEET BIRD OF YOUTH at Goodman Theatre This Fall

Artistic Director Robert Falls announced today that he will direct a major revival and new adaptation of Measure for Measure, Shakespeare's darkly comic collision of vice and virtue, in Goodman Theatre's 2012/2013 season, March 9 - April 14, 2013. Also, director David Cromer announced partial casting for his production of Sweet Bird of Youth: Oscar, Emmy, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award-nominee Diane Lane appears as Princess Kosmonopolis and Finn Wittrock, who recently appeared in Broadway's Death of a Salesman with Philip Seymour Hoffman, is cast as the young-actor-turned-gigolo Chance Wayne.
