The Lincoln Center Theater/LCT3 production of PLOT POINTS IN OUR SEXUAL DEVELOPMENT began rehearsals this Tuesday, September 11. PLOT POINTS IN OUR SEXUAL DEVELOPMENT, by the emerging new playwright Miranda Rose Hall, to be directed by Margot Bordelon, will begin performances Saturday, October 6, open on Monday, October 22, and run through Sunday, November 18 at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street).

DISNEY'S THE LION KING JR. opens at Artisan Center Theater on Friday, August 10, 2018 and runs through Saturday, August 18, 2018. The 148 seat Second Stage facility is located at 444 East Pipeline Road in Hurst. Performances are at 7:00pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with additional 3:30pm matinees on Saturdays. Local kids at the Mount Tabor Arts summer camp are at it again this summer pouring their hearts into preparing 'Lion King Jr. one of Disney's favorite tales of Simba learning about the Circle of Life! This is the second youth performance of the newly launched Mount Tabor Arts Collaborative.

Gloucester Stage Company continues its 39th season of professional theater with the New England premiere of Jason O'Connell and Brenda Withers' Cyrano from July 13 through August 11 at Gloucester Stage Company, 267 East Main Street, Gloucester, MA. Gloucester Stage Artistic Director Robert Walsh directs this adaptation of Rostand's 1897 classic, Cyrano de Bergerac. According to Walsh, 'Cyrano, a new adaptation of the famous play by Edmond Rostand (Cyrano de Bergerac), by Brenda Withers & Jason O'Connell, is a fast-paced, contemporized version featuring a small cast breathing fresh life into this large-scale classic.  Witty, clever, insouciant and fully enjoying the poetic bravura through a modern-day lens and very approachable language, this New England premiere will be perfect for Gloucester Stage!  A beautiful tale told with panache.'

Inspired by The Hollywood Reporter's Roundtables, Sarafina Magazine: Live will feature discussions with South Africa's leading womxn artists and arts industry professionals. Sarafina Magazine founder, Candice Bernstein, will moderate the fourth installment of the bi-monthly talkback series which kicked off in January 2018. Audience members are encouraged to engage in the discussion through a Q&A session at the end of the talkback.

 Hunter College President Jennifer J. Raab announced today the inaugural production of the Hunter Theater Project, the New York premiere of Anton Chekhov's UNCLE VANYA at the Frederick Loewe Theater at Hunter College (E. 68th Street and Lexington Avenue), directed by Richard Nelson. Translated byRichard Nelson, Richard Pevear, and Larissa Volokhonsky. This production is the first time renowned Russian literature translators Pevear and Volokhonsky will have a work premiere in New York City, following the show's world premiere at The Old Globe in San Diego, California. Previews for UNCLE VANYA begin Friday, September 7. The production runs through Sunday, October 14, with an official press opening on Sunday, September 16. Tickets are on sale now.

A post-Thanksgiving performance of An Evening of Classic Broadway will take place on Tuesday, November 28th at 8PM (doors open at 6:30) at LA's live music venue Rockwell Table and Stage in Los Feliz. Hunter College President Jennifer J. Raab today announced the appointment of Gregory Mosher as a new Professor and the first Jay and Patty Baker Chair of Theatre, beginning this semester. As part of the growth of this department, Mosher has Alec Baldwin as a guest lecturer today, Wednesday, September 27th. There will be other special guests brought in to meet students throughout the year.

Encore Theatre Productions brings the contemporary musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, music and lyrics by William Finn and book by Rachel Sheinkin. The Eric Abraham and Fugard Theatre production of KING KONG has sold out its Cape Town first run. The show ends at the Fugard Theatre on 2 September before transferring to the Mandela Theatre at the Joburg Theatre in Johannesburg from 12 September until 8 October.

Theater with a View, Pottstown's professional site-specific theatre company, returns this July with a brand new production of David Linday-Abaire's award-winning drama Rabbit Hole. The production, which will be staged entirely outdoors at the Sycamore Hill estate (481 Ebelhare Road, Pottstown, PA), begins previews on Wednesday, July 12 and will run through Today, July 29.

Indie Nights Presents live at the Avalon actor, singer and songwriter Alfred Jackson for a 'Complicated' album release and benefit concert. The concert will take place July 30th at 6pm.
