The Off-Broadway premiere of Elda Cusick's new play, Austin, will open tonight, August 4th, at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues). Ed Setrakian directs a cast that stars Thomas G. Waites ('OZ'), James McCaffrey ('Rescue Me'), Rochelle Bostrom, AJ Cedeño, and Michaela Waites. Austin will play a limited run through September 10th only.

Kevin Bacon will appear in the film 'X-Men: First Class,' Entertainment Weekly's Hollywood Insider reports. Bacon will play a villain who fights Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender). The film, which is a prequel to the previous 'X-Men' films, will begin filming in London this fall, the Hollywood Insider reports. It is set when characters Professor Charles Xavier and Erik Lenshaar/Magneto are in their late teens and early twenties. Alive Eve co-stars in addition to Nicholas Hoult, who reportedly plays the role of Beast orginally offered to BLOODY, BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON's Benjamin Walker. BroadwayWorld announced today that Walker will instead lead the cast of JACKSON to the Bernard Jacobs Theatre on Broadway beginning September 29, 2010.

Though both have appeared on Broadway, Barrowman in PUTTING IT TOGETHER and Paige in SUNSET BLVD as well as an acclaimed appearance in SWEENEY TODD at City Opera, they are best known for their fantastic work on the West End stage, Barrowman having created roles in MATADOR and THE FIX and Paige having a legendary career creating such impressive roles as Evita, Piaf, Grizabella in CATS, Florence in CHESS, as well as THE DROWSEY CHAPERONE and other appearances in addition to a multi-decade recording and concert career.
