HAIR Opening At The Long Beach Playhouse Studio
by A.A. Cristi - Oct 7, 2019

On October 12, the Long Beach Playhouse Studio Theatre closes its 2019 season with the iconic musical tribute to the 1960s, Hair. The play was written 50 years ago by Gerome Ragni, James Rado and Galt MacDermot. At the time, it seemed unlikely that Hair would be relevant five decades later but it it's true. The songs are still infectiously energetic. It's a coming of age story and a love story with tough decisions and a hard-hitting ending. It's lost none of its sparkle and a new generation is ready for the message.

King Crimson To Release 5 Discs Of Live Music with AUDIO DIARY 2014 - 2018
by Kaitlin Milligan - Aug 19, 2019

Back in 1969, King Crimson made its reputation as a live band – initially with the hipsters, scene setters & other musicians who frequented the likes of the Speakeasy & The Marquee in London, then, more broadly, with a breakthrough gig to a vast mainstream audience as guests on the bill with The Rolling Stones in Hyde Park in July of that year. So it's appropriate that the current incarnation of King Crimson was to be found just opposite the entrance to Hyde Park at the end of June 2019 almost 50 years on from that concert, playing a trio of packed gigs at the Royal Albert Hall.

by Tori Hartshorn - Jul 16, 2019

One of the most iconic photos of the 1969 Woodstock Music and Art Fair doesn't even feature a musician as its subject. Instead, it was a 1963 Volkswagen Microbus covered in mystical symbols and a psychedelic paint scheme that became one of the enduring images of the famous festival, the 1960s and hippie counterculture. CuriosityStream, the award-winning streaming and on-demand destination from the founder of Discovery Channel, brings viewers on the epic cross-country search for and resurrection of the famous, but missing, camper van, beginning August 12 with the world premiere of THE WOODSTOCK BUS.

In conjunction with the 50th anniversary, Woodstock: Three Days That Defined a Generation, directed by Barak Goodman, written by Goodman and Don Kleszy, and produced by Goodman and Jamila Ephron, premieres Tuesday, August 6, 2019, 9:00-11:00 p.m. ET (check local listings) on PBS, pbs.org and the PBS Video App.
