On Monday, December 17, 2012, the National Touring Company of Wicked hosted A Wicked WONDERLAND at the Sheldon Concert Hall in St. Louis, MO. The event featured the company of Wicked, and net proceeds benefited Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and STAGES ST. LOUIS. Tickets ranged from $25 for students/actors to $100 for VIPs which included a post-show meet-and-greet reception with the cast. In addition to the performance, the event featured live and silent auctions including several opportunities to join the company backstage at The Fabulous Fox Theatre.
WICKED's Elphaba Costume Inducted into the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History

In a historic ceremony on Monday, December 17th, the blockbuster musical WICKED's iconic Elphaba costume, hat and broom were inducted into the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History. Tony Award-winning costume designer Susan Hilferty was on hand to sign the deed of gift as well as Broadway cast members Donna Vivino and Tiffany Haas who sang a selection of song from WICKED to commemorate this significant event. The costume elements will join objects from the musicals King and I, Rent and The Lion King in the museum's permanent entertainment collections.

In June 2012, she celebrated her 1000th performance as Elphaba in three subsequent production of Wicked: in Stuttgart and Oberhausen (Germany) and in Scheveningen (The Netherlands). On February 12th Willemijn Verkaik will make her Broadway debut and play the green witch for 15 weeks at the Gershwin Theatre.

As BroawayWorld previously reported, beginning performances on Tuesday, February 12, 2013, Willemijn Verkaik will make her Broadway debut as Elphaba in the blockbuster musical WICKED. An award-winning actress who has performed the role for more than 1,000 performances in Germany and Holland, Ms. Verkaik will perform the role for a special 15-week engagement. She is currently headlining the Dutch production of WICKED and will play her final performance there on January 11, 2013.

Joining Eden and her band at Dim Mak Studios in Hollywood, CA will be: Tracie Thoms, Ty Taylor, Sarah Mears, Stefanie Sidler and Paul David. Eden brings an innovative and deeply personal interpretation to some modern Broadway hits. In its ongoing efforts to combat bullying, the hit Broadway musical WICKED will host a special event tonight, October 11, featuring two leaders in the worldwide campaign to bring an end to bullying: Ben Cohen, MBE, founder of The Ben Cohen StandUp Foundation, and Dan Savage, co-founder of The It Gets Better Project. Mr. Cohen and Mr. Savage will be joined by members of the WICKED company for a post-performance talk-back to discuss what can be done to help stop the prevalence of bullying.
