 The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts will present an evening with acclaimed Ukrainian-American pianist Inna Faliks, who breaks new ground with a breathtakingly innovative homage to Beethoven and Ravel that includes the live premieres of imaginative and rich new works for the piano by nine contemporary composers.

Diablo Ballet will celebrate its 28th Anniversary with a one-night only performance at the Lesher Center for the Arts.  Featured on the program is the company premiere of Penny Saunders' Sur le Fil which premiered with Tulsa Ballet 2 in 2018. 

The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts presents the URLAND production of BEDTIME STORIES from Thursday, March 24 through Saturday, March 26, 2022, in The Wallis' Lovelace Studio Theater. Bedtime Stories celebrates the art of the voice to bring to life an enchanting cast of characters created by actor Thomas Dudkiewicz, who leads audiences into a strange and brilliantly dark world.

Tonight, NBC will air its sixth live musical production. Following in the footsteps of The Sound of Music, Peter Pan, The Wiz, Hairspray, and Jesus Christ Superstar, the peacock network will be presenting Annie. Based on Harold Gray's comic strip titled Little Orphan Annie, this musical tells the story of a little orphan with equal measures of pluck and positivity who charms everyone's hearts, despite a next-to-nothing start in New York City in the year 1933.

Selected as a finalist from the 2020/21 Premiere Play Festival, Year One will feature actors Kate Kearney-Patch, Kevin Loreque, Kaitlyn Lunardi, Kathy McCafferty and Eric Phelps. John J. Wooten, producing artistic director of Premiere Stages, directs.

Premiere Stages at Kean University will present Erik Gernand’s Year One September 9-26 in Kean University’s Bauer Boucher Theatre Center (Vaughn Eames Hall, 1000 Morris Avenue, Union, N.J.).

The Wallis and Mark Cortale present AN EVENING WITH CHRISTINE EBERSOLE on Friday, February 28, 2020, 7:30 pm, in the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts' Bram Goldsmith Theater. The two-time Tony Award-winning star of 42nd Street and Grey Gardens returns to The Wallis to perform music from the American Songbook, Broadway and more. With music direction by Larry Yurman and special guest Scott Frankel, both of whom worked with Ebersole on Broadway's War Paint and Grey Gardens, the evening is directed by Scott Wittman (Hairspray, Patti LuPone on Broadway, Nathan Lane, Sarah Jessica Parker, Rufus Wainwright).

Global pop icon Art Garfunkel appears at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts as part of his intimate and deeply personal world tour, In Close Up, that features the famed folk singer performing Simon & Garfunkel songs, solo hits and covers as well as reading excerpts from his book, What Is It All But Luminous, on Sunday, January 12, 2020, 7:00 pm, in the Bram Goldsmith Theater at The Wallis.

CONTRA-TEMPO, the critically-acclaimed Los Angeles-based urban Latin dance company, presents joyUS justUS, an evening-length work that celebrates the power of joy to overcome inequalities, on Friday, January 17, and Saturday, January 18, 2020, 7:30 pm, in the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts' Bram Goldsmith Theater.

Hershey Area Playhouse will present the holiday production The Homecoming. Directed by Marcie Warner, The Homecoming is a heartwarming family story based on Earl Hamner Jr.'s novel and adapted for the stage by Christopher Sergel. The story takes place one Christmas Eve in 1933 as the Spencer family, known on television as a?oeThe Waltons,a?? awaits the return of their father, who has had to find work many miles from home. With anxious anticipation, his eight children and their mother prepare for Christmas with the uncertainty of his return in the midst of a winter snow storm. The eldest son, who also narrates the tale, is sent out to find his father, encountering many of the town's characters, as well as some revelations about them, himself, and the man for whom he is searching. It is a perfect a?oeget you in the mood for the holidaysa?? experience that will be sure to please Playhouse audiences.

The second season of Film Independent Presents at The Wallis kicks off with a signature Live Read event featuring Cameron Crowe's 1992 classic Singles, directed by award-winning filmmaker James Ponsoldt, making his Live Read debut, on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, 7:30 pm, in The Wallis' Bram Goldsmith Theater. The cast includes Jay Duplass (Jeff Who Lives at Home, The Puffy Chair), Kelly Marie Tran (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Lynn Shelton (Humpday, Your Sister's Sister), Mamoudou Athie (The Circle, The Frontrunner) and more to be announced.

National Theatre Live broadcasts return to the McAninch Arts Center (MAC) with David Hare's a?oeI'm Not Running,a?? (Oct. 16 & 20), and concluding with a?oeSmall Islanda?? (March 3 & 8).

Technically any venue with 500 seats or more, located along Broadway in New York City's Theatre District is a Broadway theatre, and the art that is produced in these special places is widely considered the highest form of theatrical entertainment in the world. Today, forty-one theatres are technically Broadway houses, each with their own rich history.
