As BroadwayWorld reported last month, the World Premiere of Prince of Broadway, a new musical celebrating the extraordinary six decade Broadway career of producer-director Harold Prince, will play from October 23-November 22, 2015 at Tokyu Theatre Orb in Tokyo, Japan and November 28-December 10, 2015 at Umeda Arts Theater, Main Hall, in Osaka, Japan. Now according to the show's official website, 2015 Tony nominee Tony Yazbeck (On the Town, Gypsy Chicago, A Chourus Line) has joined the company.

Acclaimed Director James Lapine will be honored with the 2015 “Mr. Abbott” Award for the outstanding artistry and creativity of his forty-year (and counting) career. The Award will be presented at a gala event on October 19 at Stage 48 in NYC. Chairing the “Mr. Abbott” Award Committee are Jordan Roth, Vanessa L. Williams, Leigh Silverman, and Dan Knechtges with honorary chair Stephen Sondheim. Proceeds from this gala event benefit Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation.

Danny Burstein won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical for CABARET. Danny Burstein was nominated for Tony Awards for his performances in The Drowsy Chaperone (2006), South Pacific (2008), Follies (2012), and Golden Boy (2013). He made his Broadway debut in A Little Hotel on the Side. His other Broadway appearances include The Seagull, Company, and Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown.

New York City Center's acclaimed Encores! Off-Center series, under the artistic direction of Jeanine Tesori, returns this summer for a second season of landmark Off-Broadway musicals. The season opens with Jonathan Larson's tick, tick... BOOM!, June 25 - 28, starring Lin-Manuel Miranda and Karen Olivo, directed by Oliver Butler, and continues with a one-night only performance of Randy Newman's Faust: The Concert, with Randy Newman as the Devil, directed by Thomas Kail, on July 1. Pump Boys and Dinettes, with book, music and lyrics by John Foley, Mark Hardwick, Debra Monk, Cass Morgan, John Schimmel and Jim Wann , directed by Lear deBessonet and choreographed by Danny Mefford, wraps up the season, running July 16 - 19. Chris Fenwick is the Encores! Off-Center music director.

Celia Keenan-Bolger has won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Play for THE GLASS MENAGERIE. Celia Keenan-Bolger was nominated for a Tony Award in 2005 for her performance in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and another in 2012 for Peter and the Starcatcher. She also appeared on Broadway in the revival of Les Misérables from October 2006 to April 2007.

Broadway's new musical CHAPLIN started previews this week and opens September 10 at the Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street). CHAPLIN is a new musical depicting the life of film icon Charlie Chaplin, with music and lyrics by Christopher Curtis and book by three-time Tony Award-winner Thomas Meehan (Annie, The Producers, Hairspray) and Christopher Curtis. Full casting for The Old Vic's sparkling new production of High Society has been announced. Casting includes the previously announced Kate Fleetwood, Barbara Flynn, Jamie Parker, Annabel Scholey and Rupert Young along with Ellie Bamber, Richard Grieve, Christopher Ravenscroft and Jeff Rawle. The Old Vic's new production of Cole Porter's classic feel good musical, High Society is directed by Maria Friedman, with Joe Stilgoe and the High Society Band.

Stephen Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along, the first New York City Center Encores! production of the season , will open on Wednesday, February 8 at New York City Center, and will feature Colin Donnell, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Elizabeth Stanley, Betsy Wolfe and Adam Grupper. Merrily We Roll Along, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by George Furth, will be directed by James Lapine with music direction by Rob Berman and musical staging by Dan Knechtges. Merrily has been extended for a two-week run and will play for 15 performances, February 8-19, 2012, 55th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues.
