Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story On Stage officially opens a new production and North American tour at the Harris Center in Folsom, CA, tonight, October 5.

After three successful years on tour boasting numerous sold out engagements, this new adaptation of the worldwide smash-hit film, currently celebrating its 30th Anniversary, will continue to dazzle in more than 50 markets in North America, including the Lehigh Valley at The State Theatre on June 21 and June 22, 2018.

Music Theater Works (formerly Light Opera Works) presents the Leonard Bernstein classic, CANDIDE, based on Voltaire's satire on the follies of the human race, at Cahn Auditorium in Evanston, June 3 through 11. A 24-piece orchestra accompanies the well-known songs "Glitter and Be Gay," "The Best of All Possible Worlds" and "Make Our Garden Grow."

Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre's founding artistic director Fred Anzevino today announced the company's lineup for the 2017-18 season, its last in its Rogers Park venue, the No Exit Café. The company will move into a new home in Evanston for the 2018-19 season. Their '17-'18 season will open in September with William Finn and James Lapine's 1998 off-Broadway hit, A New Brain. The musical, which was inspired by a real-life medical crisis Finn experienced, concerns a songwriter who while in a coma and awaiting life-threatening brain surgery, hallucinates about the songs he has yet to write and the people in his life. Its score includes some of Finn's most romantic, humorous and joyous songs, such as “I'd Rather Be Sailing,” “The Music Still Plays On” and “I Feel So Much Spring.” A New Brain will be directed by Anzevino, with music direction by Jeremy Ramey and choreography by Cameron Turner. It will run from September 15  through October 29.

R-S Theatrics is excited to announce its eighth season opener Light in the Piazza with the lush music of Adam Guettel (Floyd Collins), and the book by Craig Lucas (Prelude to a Kiss) has distilled Elizabeth Spencer's novella to a poignant tale about the essence of love. This production will continue R-S Theatrics residence with the Kranzberg Arts Organization.

Yale Repertory Theatre (James Bundy, Artistic Director; Victoria Nolan, Managing Director) concludes its 50th Anniversary Season with the world premiere of MARY JANE by Amy Herzog, directed by Anne Kauffman, April 28 through May 20 at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street). Stage Kiss by Sarah Ruhl, winner of the 2016 Steinberg Distinguished Playwright Award and a MacArthur 'genius' grant, will be directed by Courtney O'Connor at the Lyric Stage Company of Boston, opening February 26 and running through March 26, 2017. Previews begin February 24.
