On Sunday, June 2, 2019, Broadway Sings for Pride cast members Brennyn Lark (Broadway's Les Miserables 2014 Revival, West End's Dreamgirls) and Phindile Wilson (Disney's The Lion King United States, Madrid, Brazil and Hong Kong Tours, Helen Hayes Award nominee) will showcase their singing at Westchester Pride sponsored by The LOFT: LGBT Community Services Center! Expect to hear Broadway favorites to pop hits. Broadway Sessions, the MAC award winning, long running musical theatre variety show created and hosted by Ben Cameron is thrilled to announce it's summer residency on Fire Island! Beginning Memorial Day, Monday May 27th, the Broadway Sessions 'Beach Party' will bring Broadway to the beach at the world famous Ice Palace in Cherry Grove. Every Monday from 9-11pm, Ben Cameron and crew welcome a host of Broadway stars and veterans to offer up showtunes and general merriment to the Fire Island community. No cover charge. Audience members are encouraged to take part in open mic and theatre related games. The series will feature dual musical directors Drew Wutke and Kyle Branzel on alternating weeks. Geffen Playhouse raised more than $1.3 million for the theater's education, community engagement and artistic initiatives at its 17th annual Backstage at the Geffen fundraiser held May 19, it was announced today. Danny Glover (Lethal Weapon franchise, The Color Purple, Dreamgirls) presented the Artistic Impact Award for Harry Belafonte, which was accepted by daughter Gina Belafonte on his behalf, and Jane Fonda (Grace & Frankie, Book Club, 9 to 5) presented the Distinction in Theater Award to Lily Tomlin.

Kevin Black, one of South Florida's best-known producer/director/choreographers, is once again collaborating with award-winning vocalist Mimi J to create a concert program that will appeal to audiences of all ages. The two have worked together several times developing shows that achieved great success - most notably On the Radio: Sounds of the 70s, which debuted at Stage Door Theatre in 2014, and eventually morphed into I Will Survive.  That show went on to play several other area venues.

Record producer Harvey Mason Jr. has been elected as the Chair of the Board of Trustees, and managing partner of Placement Music Tammy Hurt will serve as Vice Chair. Veteran music executive Terry Hemmings was re-elected Secretary/Treasurer and recording artist and founder/CEO of Swan Songs Christine Albert assumes the position of Chair Emeritus. All officer appointments were effective on June 1, 2019.

Ever since Casey Nicholaw stepped off of the Beacon Theatre stage on June 12, 2011, his career has gone into hyperdrive.
