For the upcoming holiday season, 4th Wall Theatre Company (formerly Stark Naked Theatre Company) brings love and laughter to Houston audiences with Shakespeare's beloved romantic comedy, Much Ado About Nothing.  Widely considered to be one of Shakespeare's best comedies, Much Ado is a delightfully hilarious and witty tale of love, friendship and intrigue.  Appropriate for all ages, this not-to-be-missed holiday treat opens on December 1st and runs through Christmas Eve.

4th Wall Theatre Company (formerly Stark Naked Theatre Company) opens its 2016-2017 season on September 9th  with Sam Shepard's Tony-nominated masterpiece, True West-a modern American classic exploring themes of sibling rivalry, art as commerce, and what it means to 'be a man.' Like a runaway train, this dark comedy about two brothers and their mutual resentment takes audiences on a thrill ride into the dark side of the human psyche, with laughs and unexpected moments of revelation along the way.  In its world premiere, the San Francisco Chronicle noted that True West is "clear, funny, naturalistic. It's also opaque, terrifying, surrealistic.  If that sounds contradictory, you're on to one aspect of Shepard's winning genius-the ability to make you think your watching one thing while at the same time he's presenting another."

Griffin Theatre Company concludes its 2015-16 season with the Chicago premiere of the off-Broadway hit BAT BOY: THE MUSICAL, with book by Keythe Farley and Brian Flemming, music and lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe (Legally Blonde, Heathers: The Musical), direction by Scott Weinstein, music direction by Charlotte Rivard-Hoster and choreography by Rhett Guter. BAT BOY: THE MUSICAL will play June 4 - July 24, 2016 at The Den Theatre's Heath Main Stage, 1329 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago. Tickets are currently available at www.griffintheatre.com. The press opening is Sunday, June 12, 2016 at 3 pm.

Tony Award-winner Alex Lacamoire, the music director for the 16-time Tony nominated hit HAMILTON, took part in AOLBuild, hosted by Laura Heywood, yesterday. As part of her ongoing 40 Seconds of Broadway Awesomness YouTube series, she's released a segment in which Lacamoire reimagines 'The Schuyler Sisters' from the musical as a classic Broadway show tune. Alex Lacamoire has won the 2016 Tony Award for Best Orchestrations for HAMILTON. Lacamoire is the Music Director, Orchestrator and Co-Arranger for HAMILTON.

Los Altos Stage Company's 20th season comes to a close with the off-Broadway hit musical that the New Yorker called 'a giggly cult hit', Bat Boy: The Musical, with book by Keythe Farley and Brian Flemming, and music and lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe. Bat Boy: The Musical opens May 27 (preview performance on May 26) and runs through June 25, 2016 at the Bus Barn Theater in Los Altos.

Theatreworks USA, the nation's premiere producer of theatre for family audiences, held an invitation-only work-in-progress presentation earlier today of their new musical, PETE THE CAT, based on the best-selling book series by Kimberly and James Dean.

In June 23, 1992, if you believed the supermarket tabloid, 'Weekly World News,' you'd have accepted that a 'large-eyed, fanged human child' was found in a southern West Virginia cave.

There's really no getting around it, BAT BOY: THE MUSICAL is weird, albeit wonderfully so. It's an audacious musical comedy ripped from the headlines of a supermarket tabloid. Inspired by the on-going Weekly World News articles that began with 1992's 'Bat Child Found in Cave!,' the musical tells the story of a half-bat/half-boy creature feared and tormented by close-minded townsfolk, despite the fact that all he wants to do is learn to be human and find a home. Musicals don't get much weirder than that. But, it is for this very reason that Gen Y Productions has become the most exciting theatre company in Orlando in less than a year of operation. Not only are they willing to do shows that are outside the scope of traditional companies, but they also do them extremely well. BAT BOY, a cult favorite since it debuted Off-Broadway in 2001, is far from a perfect show, but Gen Y's version, directed by Kenny Howard and running through Halloween at The Abbey, just might be as perfect of a production as possible.

New Line Theatre, "the bad boy of musical theatre," celebrates its 25th anniversary season of adult, alternative musical theatre, with a new, expanded line-up, a brand new theatre, and a very special thank-you to the St. Louis community -- '25 for 25.' At the Thursday preview performance for each show this season, New Line will set aside 25 tickets, and the first 25 people in line at the box office at 7:00 pm will each get a ticket for 25 cents (one ticket per person).
