Francesca Moody Productions and Kater Gordon have announced the full cast for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2022 world premiere of KATHY AND STELLA SOLVE A MURDER! The five-strong cast features real-life best friends Bronté Barbé (Kathy) and Rebekah Hinds (Stella) in the title roles, playing Hull’s least successful true crime podcasters Kathy Baxter and Stella Carmichael.

Original Theatre Company today announces the all-star cast for the script-in-hand performances from the three shortlisted plays for the Originals Playwriting Award.

The US premiere and strictly limited, nine-week New York engagement of David Hare’s new play, Straight Line Crazy, starring Ralph Fiennes as Robert Moses and directed by Nicholas Hytner and Jamie Armitage, will be presented this fall at The Shed.

The full season will feature B.R.O.K.E.N code B.I.R.D switching, a world premiere play and an award recipient of the GRANTS FOR ARTS PROJECTS from the National Endowment for the Arts; Once, a Tony Award-winning musical; Songs For a New World, the first musical by a Tony Award winner; Dracula, a classic gothic tale of horrors; and Edward Albee's Seascape, a Pulitzer Prize-winning play.

Gingold Theatrical Group is presenting SPEAKER'S CORNER Writers Group. This season, writers Aeneas Sagar Hemphill, Divya Mangwani, Marcus Scott and Mallory Jane Weiss are developing works in response to prompts from the revolutionary activist humanitarian writings and precepts of George Bernard Shaw.

The Bush Theatre continues its 50th Anniversary season with Ambreen Razia's Favour a world premiere co-produced with Clean Break. Co-directed by Clean Break's Joint Artistic director Róisín McBrinn and Sophie Dillon Moniram, the cast is today announced as Avita Jay, Renu Brindle, Rina Fatania, and Ashna Rabheru.

Parents of young aspiring thespians know that a really good children’s play – especially one written to be performed by young actors – is rare.  Most of the plays written for children to perform are aimed at much younger audiences than the actors performing them, with language and stories that hit below their reading level.  That is why Traveling Players is once again commissioning award-winning local playwright, Judith Walsh White to pen a new twist on a Greek myth – the heroic tale of Heracles!  The play will premiere this summer at the Traveling Players Studio in Tysons Corner Center starring local kids. 

On March 11th 2020 Mint Theater Company completed casting for their next production, the long delayed American premiere of Chains by Elizabeth Baker, scheduled to open that May.  

TFANA has extended the run of Alice Childress’s Wedding Band, directed by Awoye Timpo, to May 22. (The production, which began previews April 28—postponed from an original date of April 23 due to two COVID-19 cases—was formerly set to close May 15).

54 years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. traveled to Memphis, TN to speak for and march with Sanitation Workers there. Dr. King found himself feeling under the weather upon his arrival and made a decision to skip the speech he was scheduled to give at Mason Temple, sending his friend Rev. Ralph Abernathy instead.

TFANA will present Alice Childress’s Wedding Band. Director Awoye Timpo’s new staging, running April 23–May 15, brings Childress’s masterpiece to New York audiences for the first time since 1972, when it made its New York premiere in a production directed by Childress and Joseph Papp.

New Earth Theatre today announce the cast for Tsunagu/Connect Live, created by Kumiko Mendl and Kazuko Hohki. This theatre production was developed in response to an oral history project launched in 2020, that conducted over 30 interviews with Japanese women living in the UK.

The Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music, America’s longest running festival of new orchestral music, celebrates its 60th Anniversary season with a return to a live, in-person concert season after two years of virtual orchestra and multi-disciplinary explorations.
