Waitress audiences have an additional chance to see 2020 Grammy Award winner Sara Bareilles and Olivier and Tony Award-winning actor Gavin Creel as new performance dates have been added following a rapturous critical and public reception at the Adelphi Theatre. Sara Bareilles, who wrote the music and lyrics for Waitress, is making her West End debut in the lead role of Jenna with Gavin Creel as Dr Pomatter having previously performed together on the Broadway run. They will be extending for a further two weeks, now appearing through to 21 March 2020.

Keri René Fuller is fresh off the national tour of Cats where she spent a year belting out her chill-inducing rendition of Memory as Grizabella. Fuller, who also graced the stage in Broadway's Waitress, is back in New York City and ready to make a splash, embarking on a brand new adventure, her first ever solo show!

The musical Amélie, first produced in 2015, is based on the 2001 film of the same name. The musical, by Daniel Messé, Nathan Tysen, and Craig Lucas, is charming and whimsical. It tells the tale of a French waitress, Amélie Poulain, who, inspired by Princess Diana's death and her own imagination, decides to make it her mission to help others. This contemporary fairytale can be enjoyed at Open Stage of Harrisburg under the direction of Stuart Landon February 1-March 8. At Open Stage, audiences will meet an unique cast of characters in an intimate setting. Gabriella DeCarli tackles the title role of Amélie Poulain in this production, and she took a few moments to share her experience with this extraordinary musical.

Producer Mark Cortale's star-studded Broadway concert series, hosted and music directed by Sirius XM radio star Seth Rudetsky, will return to San Francisco's Herbst Theatre with Keala Settle, star of the film The Greatest Showman and the Broadway hit musicals Waitress and Hands on a Hard Body, on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at 5 PM. The unique format of the series that differentiates it from any other is a seamless mix of intimate behind-the-scenes stories prompted by Rudetsky's insightful, funny and revealing questions - and the music from the artists' stellar careers. The result is spontaneous evenings of show-stopping songs and hilarity. Ms. Settle follows the recent 2020 season opener starring Jeremy Jordan. During a recent interview with Radio.com, Sara Bareilles told the story of Bono throwing his sunglasses to her at the GRAMMYS, but his toss was too hard and they went over her head to the people behind her.

After nearly four years of opening up, Waitress is closing down on Broadway. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, the musical will end its Broadway run at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre today, January 5, following 33 previews and 1544 regular performances.

With the roaring twenties fast approaching, it's time to reflect on all the shows that made an impact on us over the last decade, and on what we would like to see on stage in the decade to come. The 2010s gave us some groundbreaking new shows - Hamilton, Hadestown, Waitress - incredible revivals - Oklahoma, The Color Purple, Pippin - and breakout stars - Ben Platt, Alex Brightman, Cynthia Erivo, just to name a few. So many shows that graced the stage in the 2010s made lasting impact on audiences. Let's take a look at what shows we'd like to see a revival of in the 2020s!

The composer and lyricist of Waitress, the multi-platinum-selling Grammy and twice Tony-nominated singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles, will return to the Brooks Atkinson Theatre to host the final edition of the show's hugely popular a?oeCast Album Karaokea?? program following the 7 PM performance on Tuesday, December 17th. Interested audience members will be able to sign up before the performance for the chance to sing one minute of any song in the show accompanied by the onstage band led by musical director Nadia DiGiallonardo. Katharine McPhee currently stars as Jenna through January 5, 2020.

Broadway's Waitress will celebrate its 1500th performance on Thanksgiving, Thursday November 28, 2019.

Based on a film by the late Adriene Shelly. Waitress began its pre-Broadway run in 2015 at the ART ( American Repertory Theatre). Having it's Broadway opening when it opened at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on August 15, 2016. The score includes numbers such as Opening Up, When He Sees Me and She Used to Be Mine; it appeals to those who like classic show tunes, and those who prefer pop. With music from seven time Grammy® nominee, Sara Barellies, a book by acclaimed screenwriter Jessie Nelson, and choreography originally by Lorin Latarrom, but recreated for this tour by Abbey O'Brien.

FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Emily Koch of Broadway's Wicked and Waitress performing eMulbOy5, a solo-ish show based on her middle school journal, which was ironically addressed a?oeDear Elphabaa??, on Sunday, October 20th at 9:30 pm.

Since creating and starring in In the Heights and Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda has become one of the most influential creators on Broadway. His work has earned him great acclaim and he's collected too many awards to count, including a Pulitzer Prize, an Emmy Award, three Grammy Awards, three Tony Awards and a Kennedy Center Honor.

Notable graduates from Baldwin Wallace University will band together on August 26 to honor the life of fellow grad Kyle Jean-Baptiste, the Les Miserables cast member who tragically passed away in 2015. Jean-Baptiste was the youngest, and the first African-American actor, to play the leading role of a?oeJean Valjeana?? on Broadway. The Kyle Jean-Baptiste Foundation, which was founded in 2016 in his name, supports and provides opportunities of enrichment and learning to empower youth, families, and communities through the Arts.

Waitress's Jenna and Dr. Pomatter, Shoshana Bean and Erich Bergen, took their final bows at the diner this past weekend, and we have a peek inside the curtain call, including an emotional speech by the show's director, Diane Paulus. Be sure to check out the full video!
