The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), a professional membership organization of songwriters, composers and music publishers, announces the top ASCAP holiday songs of 2018. According to an ASCAP analysis of streaming and terrestrial radio data, the hit classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” written by ASCAP songwriter Walter Afanasieff and pop star Mariah Carey, holds the #1 song position for the second year in a row.

Many of us are sure to feel a surge of nostalgia as we recall the days when Dr. Seuss' beloved children's books graced our shelves. But nothing quite evokes that feeling as much as DR. SEUSS' HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS! THE MUSICAL.

The Old Globe today presents the Globe's 21st annual production of Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas!The holiday musical will run November 3 - December 29 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Previews run November 3 - November 7. Opening night is Thursday, November 8 at 7:00 p.m. The Grinch isdirected by James Vasquez, with book and lyrics by Timothy Mason and music by Mel Marvin. The original production of Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas! was conceived and directed by Jack O'Brien with additional lyrics by Theodor S. Geisel, additional music by Albert Hague, and original choreography by John DeLuca.

The Paley Center for Media is pleased to welcome back its classic holiday tradition PaleyLand, starting December 8, 2018.  Visitors of all ages will have the opportunity to create magical holiday memories while engaging in a special Instagram moment, playing holiday-themed video games and VR, enjoying craft activities and games, warming up with hot cocoa, viewing beloved holiday TV classics – including the most cherished Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa specials on the big screen – and visiting with Santa!  Admission is free for all, and no appointment is necessary.

The story of The Grinch and Whoville is coming to the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts during their first-ever run of Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical. With help from a $31,640 Joint Effort Marketing (JEM) grant from the Wisconsin Department of Tourism, the Marcus Center aims to increase visits to Milwaukee with a special sales promotion for overnight guests. The sales promotion will run in conjunction with performances of The Grinch from Nov. 20-25, 2018.

Where will a holiday memory be made this season? Somewhere near Whoville staged at Children's Theatre Company (CTC)? The illustrious CTC opened their musical extravaganza' 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' penned by the iconic Dr. Seuss beginning in 1994, and reprises the production from last season. While Theo Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss, created the story in 1957, CTC envisioned a production to touch any young heart despite the actual chronological age. The production's book and lyrics by Timothy Mason together with music by Mel Marvin continue to delight audiences these past 20 years since the musical's inception--and all the memories the production has created in that span of time through the years.

Children's Theatre Company (CTC) presents Dr. Seuss's How The Grinch Stole Christmas!, running November 6, 2018 through January 6, 2019, based on the book How The Grinch Stole Christmas! by Dr. Seuss, with book and lyrics by Timothy Mason, music by Mel Marvin, choreographed by Linda Talcott Lee, and directed by Peter C. Freeform joins ABC, Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney Junior in celebrating “25 Days of Christmas” across all networks.

All the Whos down in Whoville liked Christmas a lot, but Gavin Lee, who was hard at work getting into character to play Dr. Seuss' most conniving character this holiday season, did not!

Stages' holiday season offers comic alternatives to traditional seasonal shows with three productions including the regional premiere of the irreverent yet heartwarming The Ultimate Christmas Show (abridged), the world premiere of Panto Star Force, the latest in Stages' series of original Pantos for audiences of all ages, and the regional premiere of Who's Holiday!, an adult-themed How the Grinch Stole Christmas parody told entirely in Seussian rhyme. The Ultimate Christmas Show (abridged) and Who's Holiday! will be offered in true repertory style, playing in the same theatre at different performance times. Who's Holiday! will also include late-night performances at 9:30pm on select dates.

As the Halloween season comes to a close, Freeform will continue to be the home for all holiday programming as the brand-new “Kickoff To Christmas” programming event starts on NOV. 1. Adding a month full of holiday fun, the programming event will also include the premiere of the Freeform original film “The Truth About Christmas,” from MarVista Entertainment, airing SUNDAY, NOV. 25 at 9:00-11:00 p.m. EST/PST.

The Madison Square Garden Company announced today that two-time Tony Award®-nominated Broadway actor Gavin Lee will steal Christmas this season in the title role of the Grinch in Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical. This limited holiday engagement will run at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden from December 13 through December 30, 2018.  Tickets are on sale now.

The Marcus Center for the Performing Arts is hosting a free Christmas in July Celebration at the Marcus Center's Peck Pavilion and grounds this Friday, July 27 starting at 5:00 pm, which is sponsored in part by Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. The night will include awesome local vendors and community partners such as Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, SueMo Dance Company, Milwaukee Public Library and many more. Families can also purchase food and beverage through Sazama's Fine Catering and the evening will conclude with a movie screening of Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas at 7:00 pm.
