Adam Fischer conducts a cast of rising opera stars and Broadway performers. The cast is led by Susanna Phillips and Christopher Maltman as the unhappily married Rosalinde and Eisenstein; Jane Archibald as Rosalinde's feisty maid, Adele; Anthony Roth Costanzo as Prince Orlofsky; Michael Fabiano as Rosalinde's former lover, Alfred; Paulo Szot as the bumbling Dr. Falke; and Patrick Carfizzi as the prison superintendent, Frank. Broadway's Marla Mindelle (Sister Act, South Pacific), Rebecca Naomi Jones (American Idiot, Passing Strange), Taylor Trensch (Matilda, Wicked), Lauren Pritchard (Spring Awakening, Universal/Island Records) and more will join up and coming musical theatre writer Zack Zadek in a concert of his music at Highline Ballroom on Monday November 11, at 8PM. Sister Act is a musical written by Cheri Steinkellner and Bill Steinkellner with additional book material by Douglas Carter Beane, with lyrics by Glenn Slater and music by Alan Menken. It is based on the hit 1992 film comedy of the same name. Patina Miller, who originated the role of Deloris in the West End production, reprised the role on Broadway, making her Broadway debut. The original cast featured Victoria Clark (Mother Superior),Fred Applegate (Monsignor), Sarah Bolt (Sister Mary Patrick), Chester Gregory (Eddie), Kingsley Leggs (Curtis), Marla Mindelle (Sister Mary Robert) and Audrie Neenan (Sister Mary Lazarus).

Alright DFW, if you didn't take my advice with my last review, you still have this week to go see SISTER ACT. This time however, the show has moved to Fort Worth's Bass Hall in their last show of the 2012-2013 season of Broadway at the Bass supported by Sewell.
Andy Fickman has agreed to develop and direct an adaptation of Douglas Carter Beane's and Lewis Flinn's Off Broadway and Broadway musical Lysistrata Jones. Based on the Aristophenes comedy, had its acclaimed Off Broadway run in 2011 and graduated to Broadway in 2012. Along the way, the show garnered raves from the New York Times, Variety and The Hollywood Reporter.
