Just last night, star of the original movie version of Newsies, Bill Pullman, attended a performance of the Tony Award winning new American musical, and visited with the cast backstage afterwards. Additionally, 'Dance Moms' Abby Lee Miller stopped by for a quick photo with the cast. Newsies has just announced nationwaide auditions that start this weekend in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Accoridng to the casting notice the show is seeking: males, 16-22, of all ethnicities, who are strong and technically trained dancers who also tap and sing well. Acrobatics/tumbling a plus. This past weekend, Nigel Lythgoe and Adam Shankman of "So You Think You Can Dance" attended a performance of Newsies, the Tony Award winning new American musical, and visited with the cast backstage afterwards. Cast members Evan Kasprzak and Jess LeProtto have both competed on the Fox dance competition, in seasons five and eight respectively. Check out backstage photos below!

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Andy Richardson will replace Andrew Keenan-Bolger as 'Crutchie' in Newsies, which is currently playing at the Nederlander Theatre. As BroadwayWorld previously announced, Keenean-Bolger will soon leave the production to star in the pre-Broadway engagement of Tuck Everlasting at Boston's Citi Performing Arts Center. Richardson, who currently plays 'Romeo' will assume the role on March 11.

Broadway Sessions is described as an evening of musical performances, games, comedy and open mic featuring a new Broadway guest each week. The show is created/hosted by Ben Cameron (Broadway's Wicked, Aida and Footloose) and features musical direction by Joshua Stephen Kartes. This week, tonight, January 17th, Broadway Sessions will welcome female cast members from the Broadway smash hit Newsies, Jared Zirilli and more.

In this week's edition, we caught up with LaVon Fisher-Wilson, who is starring as 'Medda' in Newsies- currently playing at the Nederlander Theatre.

Oscar and Tony Award-winning composer Alan Menken, director Jeff Calhoun and producer Thomas Schumacher will join Kara Lindsay, Andrew Keenan-Bolger and Mike Faist, stars of the Tony award-winning Broadway musical, Newsies, for a special presentation to 4,000 students and teachers representing 82 groups from 23 states at the 2013 Junior Theater Festival, it was announced today by Theater of the Stars President Nick Manos and Timothy Allen McDonald, founding Chairman of iTheatrics. The Junior Theater Festival is being held January 18, 19 and 20 at the Cobb Galleria in Atlanta.
