Newsies is currently in its second year on Broadway and is still bringing audiences to their feet nightly at the Nederlander Theatre. BroadwayWorld is excited to bring you an exclusive look at the just-released new televsion spot for the Tony-winning musical below!

Stars of the highly anticipated 'Teen Beach Movie' cast attended a performance of the Tony Award-winning hit musical Newsies in which their co-star LaVon Fisher-Wilson also stars. Newsies is at The Nederlander Theatre in New York City www.NewsiesTheMusical.com and the highly anticipated Disney Channel Original Movie, a retro sun, surf and sand fest, premieres Friday, July 19, 2013 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT). Jeff Calhoun, Tony Award-nominated director of the Broadway musical 'Newsies,' is interviewed by LaGuerre-Wilkinson about his discovery of theatre, being mentored by director/choreographer Tommy Tune, the struggles and challenges of a life in the theatre, and the success and ultimate validation of 'Newsies.'

Schmackary's Cookies, aka: The Official Cookie of Broadway, hosts 'Broadway Bakes' a special benefit for Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS, this week May 27-31. Schmackary's will donate half the proceeds and all tips generated from this event to BCEFA as part of this special pre-Tony Awards 'Thank You Broadway' event. Yesterday, Corey Cott, Ben Fankhauser, and Newsies alum Ryan Steele stopped by where they performed an alternate version of 'Watch What Happens (Reprise)' and Steele showed off with some signature pirouettes. According to rumors and other reports by whatsonstage.com, producers of Disney's NEWSIES may be getting closer to finding a home in the West End late 2013 or early 2014. According to reporst, Disney is 'trying to secure either the Piccadilly or the Savoy theatres' for Spring 2014. A venue may be announced as early as next week.

Elvis Costello and Diana Krall seized the day on Sunday, May 20, at the hit Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, NEWSIES. Following the performance, the couple visited with the cast backstage. Check out a photo below!

Last night, April 22, after arriving in New York for a three game series against the Mets, LA Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw and his wife, Ellen, attended the hit Broadway musical Newsies. Last night, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas spent a perfect night out on Broadway at the hit musical Newsies. During intermission, they were reading through their Playbill, discussing the cast and noting the work of Tony Award-winning choreographer Christopher Gattelli. At the end of the show, they joined in the immediate standing ovation and went backstage following the performance to meet the cast, taking photos with leads Corey Cott and Kara Lindsay.

Newsies has just announced nationwaide auditions that start this weekend in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Accoridng to the casting notice the show is seeking: males, 16-22, of all ethnicities, who are strong and technically trained dancers who also tap and sing well. Acrobatics/tumbling a plus.
