Syd Mead, the 'visual futurist' and concept artist known for his design contributions to science-fiction films such as Star-Trek: The Motion Picture, Aliens, and Blade Runner, has been named the recipient of the William Cameron Menzies Award from the Art Directors Guild (ADG, IATSE Local 800) at the 24th Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards. The award recognizes his innovative neo-futuristic concept artwork on numerous legendary movies. The 2020 Awards will be held Saturday, February 1, 2020, at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown. The announcement was made today by ADG President Nelson Coates, ADG, and Awards Producer Scott Moses, ADG.

For the fifth year, THROUGH HER LENS: The Tribeca CHANEL Women's Filmmaker Program will create new opportunities for women filmmakers. Tribeca and CHANEL, in collaboration with Pulse Films and Tribeca Film Institute (TFI), founded THROUGH HER LENS in 2015 to provide industry support, artistic development, and funding to emerging U.S.-based female writers and directors. Participants will gather in New York City for the program's 5th edition, which will run November 4-6, 2019.

Pinch 'N' Ouch To Present Atlanta Premiere Of THE ANTIPODES by Pulitzer Prize Winner Annie Baker.

Atlanta's Pinch 'N Ouch Theatre is rocking and rolling with their latest production of HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, which will be extending for a third time. The Tony Award-winning rock musical, HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, written by John Cameron Mitchell and music by Stephen Trask, tells the story of 'internationally ignored song stylist' Hedwig Schmidt, a fourth-wall smashing East German rock 'n' roll goddess who also happens to be the victim of a botched sex-change operation, which has left her with just 'an angry inch.'

The National Theatre today announced a UK tour of Bijan Sheibani's production of A Taste of Honey, Shelagh Delaney's remarkable taboo-breaking 1950s play, which was first produced in the Lyttelton Theatre in 2014, designed by Hildegard Bechtler and reconceived in an exciting new production, featuring a live on stage band, for the tour.

Robert Fox and Alex Turner, in association with Park Theatre and King's Head Theatre, today announce the full cast for the UK premiere of Martin Sherman's new play Gently Down The Stream, following a critically acclaimed run at the Public Theater in New York. Sean Mathias directs Jonathan Hyde, Ben Allen and Harry Lawtey. The production opens at Park Theatre on 18 February 2019, with previews from 13 February, running until 16 March.

Pinch 'N Ouch Theatre opens its 10-year anniversary season with the Tony Award-winning rock musical, HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, written by John Cameron Mitchell and music by Stephen Trask. Pinch 'N Ouch Theatre's Producing Artistic Director, Grant McGowen will direct Atlanta native Chad Darnell in the role of 'Hedwig,' an East German genderqueer "internationally ignored song stylist." McGowen most recently directed THIS IS OUR YOUTH, FOOL FOR LOVE and WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF at Pinch 'N' Ouch Theatre. The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) today announced the 2018 honorees to be recognized at the 21st annual SCAD Savannah Film Festival, taking place Oct. 27-Nov. 3. Scandinavian American Theater Company (SATC) will present the US Premiere of BELOVED by acclaimed Swedish playwright Lisa Langseth. The play was originally produced in Stockholm starring Noomi Rapace (Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Prometheus) and later adapted into the film Pure starring Alicia Vikander (The Danish Girl, Tomb Raider), which won the Swedish equivalent of the Academy Award for Best Screenplay. Translated by Charlotte Barslund and directed by Kathy Curtiss, previews begin August 4 at The Lion Theatre at Theatre Row. Opening night of this limited-run Off-Broadway engagement is slated for Wednesday, August 8.

Sony Music Masterworks has announced the release of How To Talk To Girls At Parties (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack),the musical companion to the hugely anticipated new film from award-winning writer-director, John Cameron Mitchell (Hedwig and the Angry Inch), based on the short story by Neil Gaiman (American Gods, Norse Mythology). The album arrives at all music retailers and streaming services on Friday, May 11. Out today ahead of the full soundtrack release is the single track, 'Between the Breaths' from beloved indie-darlings, Mitski and Xiu Xiu. The A24 release of a See-Saw Films/Little Punk production, How to Talk to Girls at Parties opens in theaters across the U.S on May 25. StudioCanal UK releases the film across the UK on May 11.
