The multi-talented, Austin based artist David Messier is set to release his sophomore album this fall. A Trustee of the Recording Academy, Messier, is an esteemed music industry leader, accomplished producer, entrepreneur, singer and songwriter. Austin Chronicle has hailed Messier as an “expanse of talent and ideas” and KUTX said, “Messier is a hurricane force of music.” With all of his successful moments, he likes to live by the ethos that life is always happening in front of you, and doesn't often look back. So, when it came time to write the forthcoming album, he uncharacteristically and quite unexpectedly, captured his most reflective moments. The new album, Time Bomb, is one of his most honest introspective creations to date and it is due out November 2nd.

On August 26, 1968, two weeks after releasing his civil rights anthem, 'Say It Loud - I'm Black And I'm Proud,' James Brown recorded his concert at Dallas, Texas' Memorial Auditorium. First released on CD in 1998, Brown's Say It Live and Loud: Live in Dallas 08.26.68 album will make its vinyl debut in an expanded 2LP 50 th Anniversary Edition, to be released October 12 by Republic/UMe. The album's new, expanded digital edition will be released on the same date.

Cofounder Adam “MCA” Yauch died from cancer in 2012.

Showtime Documentary Films today revealed the official poster and trailer for SHANGRI-LA and announced the four-part docu-series, a collaboration from Academy Award® and Emmy® winner Morgan Neville (Won't You Be My Neighbor, 20 Feet From Stardom), legendary music producer Rick Rubin, and director Jeff Malmberg (Marwencol) will premiere on Friday, July 12 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. While new episodes ofSHANGRI-LA will be released on SHOWTIME linear channels weekly, all four will be available immediately on July 12 for on-demand streaming, via the SHOWTIME and SHOWTIME ANYTIME apps and partnering on-demand platforms. The Black Veg Society of Maryland (BVSMD) is pleased to announce its partnership with Changing Lives MD, The African Griot Book Fair and Safety City at Druid Hill Park in Baltimore in the inaugural Keep It Fresh Fest presented by MECU Neighborhood Event Grants. History of Keep It Fresh Keep It Fresh initiated as a campaign for youth, by youth. As a Green For All fellow, Denver native, eco-hiphop artist and vegan chef Dr. Ietef 'Dj Cavem' Vita decided to ask for an official day as a way of pushing his clean air, clean water, and clean food initiative and use it as a way to highlight people around the world who use food as medicine. 'I grew up in the five points, breathing in polluted air from local factories. Fresh water has always been an issue, and the freshest thing in my neighborhood was a lemon in a liquor store.
