Directed by Juliette Carrillo, this powerful adaptation of Euripides' Medea set in modern-day Los Angeles features the same cast as the Oregon Shakespeare Festival run: Sabina Zuniga Varela as Medea, Lakin Valdez as Jason , VIVIS as Tita, Nancy Rodriguez as Josefina, Vilma Silva as Armida, and Jahnangel Jimenez as Acan. Anything But Basic), and music direction by Jeff Cox. This new expanded story takes place once upon a time, in a land where fairy tales are considered current events, where we follow a shy young knight who dreams of one day having a fairy tale of his own. However, his world is shaken when he's suddenly accused of committing a violent crime against a princess from a neighboring kingdom. This concert presentation focuses on the first half of the story.
