The work of Jean-Baptiste Poquelin, better known to us as Moliere, returns to the Rose Footprint Theatre (the Company produced Tartuffe on the Footprint last season) with a new adaptation of one of his sauciest plays, Les Faux Pas: or The Counter Plots. Director Jenna Ware, who also adapted the piece, pulls out all of the stops with this riotously funny play. Featuring a cast of 11 new-comers and Company favorites Jenne Jadow and Dana Harrison Les Faux Pas: or The Counter Plots kicks off the Bankside Festival. Press Opening is Saturday, July 6 at 5:30PM. Shakespeare '70 Stages AS YOU LIKE IT at Kelsey Theatre, Now thru 7/7

Shakespeare '70 presents William Shakespeare's comedy masterpiece 'As You Like It' at Mercer County Community College's Kelsey Theatre. Performances are Fridays, tonight, June 28 and July 5 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, June 29 and July 6 at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, June 30 and July 7 at 2 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on the college's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. Hawaii Shakes Announces 2013 Season: AS YOU LIKE IT, TIMON OF ATHENS, & TROILUS AND CRESSIDA!

The Hawaii Shakespeare Festival (HSF) returns to The ARTS at Marks Garage in the center of the vibrant downtown arts district for its twelfth season. For over a decade, the Hawaii Shakespeare Festival has been presenting three Shakespeare plays each year without repeating in its quest to produce all of Shakespeare's plays for Hawaii. At the conclusion of this season, HSF will join the ranks of the few festivals worldwide that have completed the canon. The season includes Troilus and Cressida, opening July 19; Timon of Athens, opening August 9; and As You Like It, opening August 23. Each play runs two weekends. Free companion lectures are offered for each play. (more...)

Additional casting has been announced for the critically heralded all-male Shakespeare's Globe repertory productions of Twelfth Night andRichard III on Broadway this fall. The productions, which delighted audiences and broke all box office records in London's West End earlier this year, will open Sunday, November 10 at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street), with previews beginning October 15. Twelfth Nightand Richard III, which are directed by Tim Carroll, designed by Jenny Tiramani and with music by Claire van Kampen, will play a limited engagement for 16 weeks. The Guthrie today announced that eight artists who have graced the Guthrie's stages during its 50-year history, from the first season in 1963 to the theater's current season, are slated to participate in the Guthrie's 50th anniversary on June 22, 2013. Exclusive interviews with the legendary Zoe Caldwell and Christopher Plummer will be unveiled as part of a poignant and celebratory multi-media tribute, while stage veterans Barbara Bryne, Peter Michael Goetz and Stephen Yoakam; two graduates of the University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theater B.F.A. Everyman Theatre closes its historic 2012/13 season with a staging of the rarely produced comedic gem, The Beaux' Stratagem. Founding Artistic Director Vincent M. Lancisi directs the production, which features a large cast of 15 actors and includes Resident Company Members Megan Anderson, Clinton Brandhagen and Bruce Randolph Nelson. This replica of an ancient Greek theatre nestled into the hillside of the bucolic campus offers a theatrical event unique on the East Coast. The Shakespeare Theatre Company's annual Free For All is a much-loved Washington tradition, offering free Shakespeare performances to the general public for the past 22 years. This year the beloved tradition launches the Company's 2013-2014 Season by reviving Much Ado About Nothing, initially presented during the 2011-2012 Season with original direction by Ethan McSweeny. Much Ado About Nothing will run at STC's Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW) from August 20-September 1, 2013.
