Noël Coward Foundation Makes £50,000 Donation To Acting For Others

In the centenary year of Noël Coward's first produced full-length play, I'll Leave It To You, the Noël Coward Foundation is donating £50,000 to Acting for Others, an organisation founded in 1963 as The Combined Theatrical Charities. Coward was an early champion of the charity, alongside Richard Attenborough and Laurence Olivier.

Trinity Repertory Company Raised More Than $60,000 for RI Community Food Bank

Trinity Repertory Company has announced that $60,445.55 was raised for the Rhode Island Community Food Bank from the 2019 A Christmas Carol audiences - the second-highest amount ever raised in the thirteen years donations have been requested. Since 2006, this tradition has been a part of the theater's commitment to its community and a reminder to audiences to bring the spirit of Dickens' story into their lives and the rest of Rhode Island. This year's collection brings the total raised over the past thirteen years to more than $667,500.

Trinity Repertory Company is inviting the public to nominate outstanding local artists for the 2020 Rhode Island Pell Awards for Excellence in the Arts. The Pell Awards' criteria include distinction in the artist's chosen field, work that significantly advances the art form and contribution to the betterment of the community, and the world at large through artistic presence and community service. Awards will be presented at the theater's gala event on Monday, June 1, 2020.

Trinity Repertory Company to Present THE PRINCE OF PROVIDENCE Revival

Following the sold-out run of its record-breaking world premiere production of The Prince of Providence this fall, Trinity Rep will revive the play about Buddy Cianci in summer 2021 in its intimate, 250-seat Dowling Theater. The production will close out the 2020-21 Trinity Rep season, following the regular six-show subscription season and the company's 43rd production of A Christmas Carol. Details, schedule, and cast will be announced at a later date. Tickets will be available only to subscribers until spring 2021, with 2019-20 Season subscribers granted first access in February 2020.

After the immense success of her previous classes, United Solo is bringing back Oscar winner Olympia Dukakis to teach a series of 3 Master Classes on consecutive Fridays starting August 30, 2019 in New York City. This is a rare opportunity to work with Ms. Dukakis over the course of three weeks, developing one's acting skills and receiving her direct feedback. The class series, 'The Importance of Craft,' will teach students to identify and develop what is important to them as performers. Ms. Dukakis will explain how to approach the craft of acting as a personal connection to thoughts, actions, circumstances, and character, as expressed and defined by the text. 'My most important tools when I teach are my own sensibility, my personal perceptions, my knowledge of the craft, and the excitement and satisfaction I always feel with students,' said Ms. Dukakis.

La Sala, Sara Shea McConnell, and Julia Ann Slom. Reelected for another term were: Jonathan Duffy, Brian McGuirk, Kibbe Reilly, Kathryn Sabatini, and Arthur Solomon.
