The New York Times is reporting that the revival of YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU will no longer open this fall as scheduled, nor will it play its planned pre-Broadway run at Huntington stage. Due to what lead producer Elizabeth McCann says was the busying schedule of director Anna D. Shapiro, and the passing of Martin Sheen on the lead role the production has now been delayed pending the finding of a star and theatre. No new dates have been announced. (more...)

Izzard, Conroy Join 'United States of Tara'

Multi-faceted comedian and actor Eddie Izzard and multiple award-winning actress Frances Conroy will guest star on the SHOWTIME series UNITED STATES OF TARA. Izzard will appear in eight episodes and Conroy in one episode of the third season opposite Toni Collette, last year's Emmy(R) Award winner and this year's Emmy(R) nominee for her role as Tara Gregson, a wife and mother who struggles with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). Izzard will play Tara's brilliant psychology professor who is at first a DID skeptic, but becomes fascinated with Tara as a subject, leading him to further explore the condition. Conroy will star as Max Gregson's (John Corbett) mother, a recluse with a compulsive hoarding problem. Production on season three begins mid-September in Los Angeles for a 2011 premiere. (more...)

Kaller to Helm THE GREAT GAME on Broadway in 2011-2012

Wreghitt (The Miracle Worker, Grey Gardens, Lieutenant of Inishmore) and Jana Robbins (Ragtime, Little Women - The Musical) have announced that they will bring The Great Game, a new drama/play by D. Tucker Smith, to Broadway in the 2011-2012 season. Tony nominated director Sheryl Kaller (Next Fall, Adrift in Macao) will direct the production. As in the initial New York staging of the play by Nora and Delia Ephron, the production will feature a company of six that rotates in four-week cycles. Altwies, Thone, Arndt, and Roget Lead CARNAGE at Seattle Rep in '10-'11; First Round of Season Casting Announced

The Seattle Repertory Theatre has announced casting for the upcoming 2010-2011 season. Of the 23 roles cast so far, 21 have been filled by Seattle performers, ranging from up-and-comers like Troy Fischnaller and Alexandra Tavares to long-time staples like Charles Leggett, Sea?n G.
