PREFORMANCES WITH ALLISON CHARNEY first evening concert of the 2017-18 season will feature preeminent musicians Kajsa William-Olsson, Elizabeth Mann, Donna Weng and the ARK trio (soprano Allison Charney, cellist Kajsa William-Olsson, pianist Reiko Uchida) in exclusive preview preformances - anticipating their upcoming appearances on the world's most prestigious stages. Westport Community Theatre announces its first production of the 2016-2017 season, Camping with Henry and Tom, written by Mark St. Germain. The show, which has performances on weekends through Sunday, Oct. 2, is directed by Ruth Anne Baumgartner and produced by Joan Lasprogato.

RENT, the musical that changed Broadway forever is now playing on the Mainstage at the Union County Performing Arts Center in Rahway. Presented by Mystic Vision Players in partnership with the Union County Performing Arts Center, sponsored by the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders, the final two performances are this weekend Friday, November 14, and Saturday, November 15.

Rehearsals begin today, Thursday, October 2 in New York City for The River, a new play by Jez Butterworth, starring Hugh Jackman, Laura Donnelly and Cush Jumbo and directed by Ian Rickson. The River begins preview performances in four weeks on Friday, October 31 and will open on Sunday, November 16 at the Circle in the Square Theatre (50th Street between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). Off-Center series, under the artistic direction of Jeanine Tesori, will return this summer for a second season of landmark Off-Broadway musicals. The season opens with Jonathan Larson's tick, tick… BOOM!, June 25 - 28, starring Lin-Manuel Miranda and Karen Olivo, directed by Oliver Butler, and continues with a one-night only performance of Randy Newman'sFaust: The Concert, with Randy Newman as the Devil, directed by Thomas Kail, on July 1. Pump Boys and Dinettes, withbook, music and lyrics by John Foley, Mark Hardwick, Debra Monk, Cass Morgan, John Schimmel and Jim Wann , directed by Lear deBessonet and choreographed by Danny Mefford, wraps up the season, running July 16 - 19.
