Held at Grande Prairie's Tara Centre, the event featured a songwriter round with Adam Hambrick, Gordie Sampson and Striking Matches, a live and silent auction and a special headline performance from Townes. In the ten years since Townes started Big Hearts For Big Kids, the event has raised over $1.9 million.

We follow as she makes her way through a miraculous coma-induced dreamscape - oi??ne punctuated with the lives of other fellow service members. Together, they must move toward clarity, comfort, consciousness, and communal hope during a time of adversity. This operatic soldier's odyssey was created in the hopes of capturing the indomitable spirit of our U.S. military veterans and to shed light on the inspirational power of their often overlooked stories. The Falling and the Rising is a story of family, service, and sacrifice inside a period of great uncertainty.

Freeform announced today that it has begun production on a Valentine's Day romantic-comedy film, “The Thing About Harry,” filmed in Chicago and set to premiere in February. The network's first Valentine's Day feature, from director Peter Paige (“Good Trouble,” “The Fosters”), will tell the story of high school enemies, uber-jock Harry and out-and-proud Sam, who are forced to share a car ride to their Missouri hometown for a friend's engagement party on Valentine's Day. Things take a turn when Sam learns Harry has come out. Stuck spending the night together in a roadside motel, Harry and Sam begin to develop a deep friendship—with neither admitting a potential romance may be brewing—leaving them wondering if one road trip could change the rest of their lives.

Alarm Will Sound returns to the 560 Music Center on February 1st with world premieres of music by Alyssa Pyper and Lucrecia Dalt. Pyper joins Alarm Will Sound as singer and violinist for the world premiere of her new work, Descansos. Descansos are roadside memorials that mark where a loved one has died. Pyper's work reflects on the composer's own life experience growing up as a gay woman in a Mormon family, and trying to mark and move on from those spots in life where loss and trauma have occurred. Pyper is one of the first recipients of support from Alarm Will Sound's Matt Marks Impact Fund, the goal of which is to support new work that may not otherwise receive funding because of systemic barriers to unconventional work or under-represented artists.
