Renée Fleming's long and distinguished career includes performing in some of the world's most famous opera houses, performing on Broadway, and being heard on many recordings singing everything from arias to showtunes. Tonight Ms. Fleming will add another honor to her canon as she and Vanessa Williams will become the first artists to perform a live indoor concert onstage at Kennedy Center's Opera House. The evening is entitled A Time to Sing: An Evening with Renée Fleming and Vanessa Williams. Theater J's 2019 Annual Benefit Performance is an unforgettable evening of musical theater at the newly renovated Edlavitch DCJCC on November 18 at 6:30 PM. The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced its inaugural presentation of visual art to be featured at the REACH, the Center's 21st-century expansion project. Ten works in a rich diversity of media will be on display at the facility upon opening, including six pieces on loan from Glenstone Museum in Potomac, Maryland; sculptures by Joel Shapiro, Deborah Butterfield, and Roy Lichtenstein; and a wall hanging by Sam Gilliam. All works will be on view for the public beginning September 7, 2019.

Over MLK Weekend, students from the Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) traveled to New York City to study with Broadway professionals. FSPA Musical Theater students of all ages took Song Interpretation, Monologue, and Theater Dance classes with Broadway stars, casting directors, and agents, while FSPA Dance students took classes at the world-renowned Broadway Dance Center. This trip has been an annual offering for FSPA students since 2008.
