The master puppeteers, dancers, and musicians of Cambodia's premiere Shadow Puppet Troupe, Wat Bo-in New York City as part of the citywide Season of Cambodia festival-visited Broadway's SPIDER-MAN Turn Off the Darkthis weekend in between performances of their performances of Sor Neakabas (The Magical Arrowhead Dragon) at Brookfield Place, Winter Garden. In honor of the troupe's visit, the Cambodian Flag was waved by the company ofSPIDER-MAN Turn Off the Dark during curtain call, and members of the Shadow Puppet Troupe met with SPIDER-MAN star Reeve Carney backstage for an exclusive meet-and-greet.

Producers Michael Cohl and Jeremiah J. Harris announced today that Christina DeCicco will join the cast of Broadway's high-flying spectacular, Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark in the role of 'Arachne,' beginning Tuesday, April 23, 2013. Katrina Lenk, who currently plays the role, will play her final performance on Sunday, April 21.

Julie Taymor Gets Better Billing as a Result of SPIDER-MAN Lawsuit

According to the New York Times, Julie Taymor came out of her lawsuit against the producers of SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK with better billing. As of March 2011, when Taymor was officially fired as director of the musical, Taymor was credited on the show playbill with 'Original Direction By' just under Philip Wm. McKinley, who was credited as director. Now as per terms in the settlement, Taymor is listed as director above McKinley, who's credit has been changed to 'additional direction by.'

The first fifty Certified Public Accountants to arrive at the Foxwoods Theatre were given a pair of tickets to the evening's performance. According to The Hollywood Reporter, U.S. District Court Judge Katherine B. Forrest announced last Friday, March 15, that fired director Julie Taymor's lawsuit against SPIDER-MAN's producers will go to trial on May 28, 2013. The court battle has now been dragging on for seven months with no clear indication of why a settlement has not been reached.

The SPIDER-MAN court battle continues, as the legal proceedings between show producers and fired director Julie Taymor have now lasted seven months. According to the New York Times, federal Judge Katherine B. Forrest has 'expressed frustration that an agreement had not been completed in spite of the parties' coming to terms in principle in August.'

Eiko Ishioka, costume designer for SPIDER-MAN, is nominated for a 2013 Academy Award for her costume designs for Mirror, Mirror. Ishioka passed away last year after losing a battle with pancreatic cancer on January 21 in Tokyo. She was 73 years old.
