Roundabout Theatre Company has announced the company and design team for the new Broadway production of Tennessee Williams' Tony Award-winning play The Rose Tattoo.

 An all-male Twelfth Night and a Romeo and Juliet comprised of female and non-binary artists have been cast for Seattle Shakespeare Company's free Wooden O productions which start performances on Thursday, July 11.

It was just announced by Pulitzer Prize Administrator Dana Canedy that Jackie Sibblies Drury's Fairview has officially won the 2019 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

As BroadwayWorld sadly reported earlier this week, the legendary Carol Channing. Channing died at 12:31am on Tuesday, January 15th, 2019, at home in Rancho Mirage, CA of natural causes.

Muldoon's Picnic - the critically acclaimed omnium-gatherum of music, storytelling, poetry, and more - has become a staple of New York's cultural diet. Led by Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Paul Muldoon, this words-and-music jamboree features an evolving lineup of world-class special guests from across the spectrum of arts and letters. Returning for its eighth season at Irish Arts Center (553 West 51st Street, New York) on September 10, October 8, and November 12, the series will feature playwright Sarah Ruhl, jazz singer Cassandra Wilson, poet Kimiko Hahn, singer-songwriter Chris Collingwood (Fountains of Wayne),Vogue Creative Digital Director Sally Singer and more.

Children and adults of all ages are welcome to participate in a festive community event on the Music Mountain lawn on Saturday, August 25 at 11:30 am for an individual and a collaborative drawing and painting session that captures diverse responses to live music. Canvas, paints and brushes will be provided free of charge and all participants will be able to take home their work. The outdoors session will be directed by local artist Vincent Inconiglios, with chamber ensembles from the Music Mountain Academy.

'Arizona Justice,' written and performed by Katherine Brann Fredricks, is a Michael Moore/Spalding Gray style documentary expose of corruption in Arizona, involving Senator Barry Goldwater, land fraud, water rights, the mob, money laundering and murder between the 1960's and the early 2000's. Theater for the New City's Dream Up Festival will present the play's world premiere August 26 to September 5.   Adam Chisnall directs.

The Latinx Theatre Commons (LTC) proudly announces the Chicago actors performing the readings at the 2018 LTC Carnaval of New Latinx Work (Carnaval 2018: ConeXion!). Carnaval 2018: ConeXion! features readings of six new Latinx plays paired with Latinx directors, actors, designers and dramaturgs at The Theatre School at DePaul University, 2350 N. McAninch Arts Center, located at 425 Fawell Blvd. on the campus of College of DuPage (COD), presents the 2018 Lakeside Pavilion Free Outdoor Summer Series. Programming runs July 12-Aug.10 and includes a Thursday evening Family Movie Series, the Thursday evening WDCB Live Jazz Concert Series and a Friday evening Pop Music Series. One of the highlights of the Friday evening series promises to be the July 20 New Philharmonic pops concert, which will be broadcast on Facebook Live for the second year in a row.

Lineup to include Maryland's own Martin O'Malley, 7-piece Irish rock band O'Malley's March. BlackRock Center for the Arts has officially announced their annual Summer Concert Series line up on their outdoor stage. Shows are free and will be held for five consecutive Saturdays at 7 pm beginning June 30. New this summer: a variety of food trucks, and an exclusive Beer and Wine Garden for guests over 21. Family-friendly activities such as face painting, henna art, and caricature portraits will take place during the Family Fun Festival on July 28 starting at 5 pm and will include performances and workshops for kids by Culkin School of Irish Dance and an opening act by MacMillan Pipe Band. BlackRock's Concert Series celebrates Montgomery County's diverse population with an array of music including Irish Rock, Reggae, Salsa and Soul. The summer concert series showcases a distinctly diverse array of musical offerings that Blackrock Center for the Arts will present throughout the year. All Summer Concerts will be performed on the BlackRock front lawn, weather permitting - picnic blankets and low-back chairs will be allowed. Saturday, July 21 | Sizzlin' Salsa| Salsa Not your everyday salsero, Marlow Rosado is a producer, composer, and pianist who incorporates elements of rock, hip-hop, reggaeton, and bachata into his salsa recordings and performances. After moving to Florida to earn a master's degree in jazz education, Rosado began to share his love of music as a teacher while moonlighting conducting orchestras, producing recordings, and writing arrangements. A gig singing for Desmond Child - Songwriting Hall of Fame inductee and frequent associate of Aerosmith and Bon Jovi - led to work with Ricky Martin and Alejandra Guzmán. Rosado's second solo album, Retro earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Tropical Latin Album. Saturday, July 28 | O'Malley's March | Irish Rock Martin O'Malley has brought together a band of diverse musicians some born and raised in the traditions of Irish music, some classically trained, some life-long students of blues, rock, jazz. Jared Denhard, Jim Eagan, Pete Miller, Ralph Reinoldi, Jamie Wilson and Martin O'Malley are O'Malley's March. You could call it Celtic Rock- but it is so much more. This band has refused to stand in one place and simply play the usual fare. Mixing the hauntingly beautiful, soulful and rousing music of Irish tradition with the music that was created out of the Irish Diaspora with original songs by Martin O'Malley, they continue to grow, listen, go beyond what they know, to share their intimate connection with the music they have written and the music that has written them. After a successful run in Central Park, playing to over 4,000 people, performances resume on Wednesday, June 27 in Rockefeller Park/Battery Park City for New York Classical Theatre's critically acclaimed production of Romeo and Juliet, directed by the company's Founding Artistic Director Stephen Burdman. The production will play this week through June 30, before continuing on to The Battery, Carl Schurz Park, and Brooklyn Bridge Park for performances through July 29. Will Geer's Theatricum Botanicum, its own history firmly rooted in the McCarthy-era Hollywood blacklist - when actor Will Geer and his wife, Herta Ware, created the theater as a haven for blacklisted actors - opens a new production of Miller's modern classic onJune 30. Theatricum artistic director Ellen Geer, Will's daughter, is at the helm, with family members Thad Geer,Willow Geer and Melora Marshall featured in the cast.
