The special exhibition Leonard Bernstein: The Power of Music is on view through September 2 at the National Museum of American Jewish History (NMAJH). The first large-scale museum exhibition to illustrate the famed conductor and composer's life, Jewish identity, and social activism, Leonard Bernstein: The Power of Music features approximately 100 historic artifacts-from Bernstein's piano and conducting suit to family heirlooms-along with original films and immersive sound installations. The exhibition is part of the worldwide centennial celebration of Bernstein's birthday.

The Recording Academy will honor its 2018 Special Merit Awards recipients with 'GRAMMY Salute To Music Legends®,' an awards ceremony and live tribute concert on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. This year's Lifetime Achievement Award honorees are Hal Blaine, Neil Diamond, Emmylou Harris, Louis Jordan, the Meters, Queen, and Tina Turner. Additional Special Merit Awards honorees to be celebrated include Bill Graham, Seymour Stein, and John Williams, who are this year's Trustees Award honorees, and Tony Agnello and Richard Factor, who are the Technical GRAMMY Award recipients. Also being honored is Melissa Salguero, this year's recipient of the Music Educator Award. Led by GRAMMY®-nominated industry icon Greg Phillinganes as musical director, the tribute concert will feature rare performances by honorees and never-seen renditions by those they've inspired. Currently scheduled to appear are eight-time GRAMMY winner Herb Alpert, who will honor Blaine; past GRAMMY nominee Micky Dolenz, who will be honoring Diamond; GRAMMY winner Sammy Hagar, who will pay tribute to Graham; 13-time GRAMMY winner and Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Harris; past GRAMMY nominee Ledisi, who will salute Jordan; and three-time GRAMMY winner Trisha Yearwood, who will pay tribute to Harris. Legendary singer and 2016 Kennedy Center Honoree Mavis Staples will headline a special evening for the 2018 Kennedy Center Spring Gala on Sunday, May 6, 2018, in the Concert Hall. An Evening with Mavis Staples and Special Guests pairs Staples with some of her most notable collaborators: singer-songwriter Neko Case, multi-instrumentalist Bruce Hornsby, and bluegrass-county artist Alison Krauss. Together, they will lead guests through Staples's 60-plus year catalog of genre-defying contributions to American music, including many seminal works that have woven her into the very fabric of gospel, soul, folk pop, R&B, Hip Hop, blues, and rock. The event is chaired by Frances and Craig Lindner.

She stars in Delaware Theatre Company's regional premiere of ELLA: First Lady of Song, opening April 18.

New York's beloved Dance Theatre of Harlem, under the artistic direction of Virginia Johnson, returns to NY City Center for its annual homecoming season tonight, April 4, the 50th Anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., with the annual Vision Gala, honoring dance legend Carmen de Lavallade and civil rights icon Xernona Clayton.

Opera Orlando returns to the intimate setting of the Alexis and Jim Pugh Theater at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts for part of their 2018-2019 season. Three productions comprise The Opera on the Main Stage series as the company presents its third season of fully staged operas. The company also will inaugurate its Opera on the Town series in 2018-2019, performances in various venues in Central Florida. Numerous special events also will be held.

Tim Rice & Andrew Lloyd Webber's Jesus Christ Superstar is a rock opera that tells the story of the final week in the life of Jesus Christ. It begins with the preparation for the arrival of Jesus and his disciples in Jerusalem and ends with the crucifixion. It also highlights the political and interpersonal struggles between Jesus and one of his 12 apostles, Judas Iscariot that are not present in the Bible narratives.

The Muny announced today that Tony and Grammy Award- winning artist Heather Headley and Tony, Emmy and Golden Globe Award-nominated artist Matthew Morrison will serve as co-hosts for The Muny's historic Centennial Gala show, An Evening with the Stars, May 18, 2018 at 9:15 p.m. at The Muny.

The McCallum Theatre presents "Jack @ 80: Jack Jones' 80th Birthday" on Saturday, March 3, at 8:00pm. Jack promises a show reflecting his long and illustrious career. Jack Jones was born in Hollywood on the night his singer/movie star father, Allan Jones, recorded his hit 'Donkey Serenade." He would make his famous parents (his mother was the elegant actress Irene Hervey) proud for the diversity and breadth of his talent. Jack attended University High School in West Los Angeles, studying drama and singing with private teachers. A young athlete, he gave up track and football to devote himself to the arts.
