Pittsburgh Festival Opera has announced the winners of the 10th Annual Mildred Miller International Vocal Competition, Mezzo-Soprano Edition. The Mildred Miller International Voice Competition was founded in 2011 to identify and nurture talented young singers.

Free digital tickets are now available for The Anonymous Lover which premieres online Saturday, November 14, at 5 PM Pacific Time. The Anonymous Lover is a 1780 comic romance by pioneering Black composer Joseph Bologne, known as the Chevalier de Saint-Georges. Conducted by Music Director James Conlon and directed by Bruce Lemon, Jr. 

Premiering online Saturday, November 7 at 7:00pm EST, Pittsburgh Festival Opera will present a tribute to its founder, Mildred Miller Posvar, to celebrate her lifetime achievement and continuing contributions to the world of opera.

This season, Pittsburgh Festival Opera will be presenting a Special Mezzo-Soprano Edition in a digital-only format in response to COVID-19 restrictions on public gatherings.

Ho avuto il piacere di assistere a più di una presentazione del libro La Storia Della Discomusic, edito dalla Hoepli e scritto da Andrea Angeli Bufalini e Giovanni Savastano. Facciamo una panoramica sulle altre trasposizioni cinematografiche degli ultimi anni.

Ha appena compiuto 90 anni, ma Stephen Sondheim non da segno di voler abbandonare la scena musicale. Sempre impegnato nella supervisione di revival dei suoi musical o al lavoro su nuovi show, Sondheim è considerato il simbolo del musical On Broadway: gli è stato dedicato un teatro sulla 43° strada e ha al suo attivo 8 Tony Award, 16 Drama Desk Awards, 8 Grammy, e 1 Oscar.

On Friday, February 28, 2020 at 8:00pm, the Philharmonic Society of Orange County and the Irvine Barclay Theatre present multiple Grammy Award-nominated violinist Philippe Quint in the west coast premiere of Charlie Chaplin's Smile: A Musical Tribute to Charlie Chaplin, a new multimedia recital with pianist John Novacek featuring new arrangements of works and video clips from Chaplin's most celebrated films - Modern Times, City Lights, Monsieur Verdoux, The Kid, Limelight and A King in New York - interspersed with works by composers that had a great impact on Chaplin's compositional style: Tchaikovsky, Debussy, Brahms, Gershwin, and Stravinsky. During the performance, Quint will also narrate the stories that he has written and based on Chaplin's My Autobiography. There will be a 7:00pm panel with Quint, film archivist Stan Taffle, and Newport Beach Film Festival CEO Gregg Schwenk before the performance.

On Thursday, January 30, 2020 at 8:00pm, multiple Grammy Award-nominated violinist Philippe Quint performs the first ever concert presented at Chaplin's World, a museum opened in 2016 at the site of the former Chaplin family home, the Manoir de Ban, in Corsier-sur-Vevey, Switzerland.

Southwark Playhouse has announced its spring 2020 season shows, and an update on new venue in the Elephant and current premises on Newington Causeway.

Columbia Artists welcomes multiple Grammy Award-nominated violinist Philippe Quint to the roster for worldwide general management. Quint will be managed by Senior Vice President & Artist Manager Stefana Atlas and Artist Manager Martin Wittenberg.

The Town and the City Festival has just added a handful of new acts to its extensive lineup for the two-day music and arts festival in Lowell, Massachusetts on Friday, October 18th and Saturday, October 19th, 2019. The International Contemporary Ensemble announces six composers chosen to be the first ICEcommons Artists-in-Residence: Helga Arias, Kate Gentile, Murat olak, Ylva Lund Bergner, Fernanda Navarro, and Bergr n Sn bj rnsd ttir. Represented by a diversity of backgrounds and musical styles, the cohort was selected by a panel of ICE musicians and outside experts who, over the course of six weeks, became familiar with more than 700 composers who submitted their creative work for consideration via a new call for scores on the ICEcommons web portal.

Dopo un debutto romano di successo e un rovinoso incidente di percorso (il furto delle attrezzature tecniche durante la tournee) e arrivato a Milano la versione italiana dell'off-broadway MURDER BALLAD firmato da Julia Jordan e Juliana Nash. Quando si parla di A CHORUS LINE ci troviamo di fronte a un mostro sacro del teatro musicale: vincitore di numerosi Tony al suo debutto nel 1975 e per anni il musical piu longevo di Broadway finche non fu superato da Cats.

Siamo nella meta degli anni settanta, in un clima di recessione economica esplode la violenza criminale e politica e in questo contesto sociale prende vita Aggiungi un Posto a Tavola, nato da una felice intuizione di Jaja Fiastri che trovo lo spunto in un libro comprato in una bancarella della Stazione Termini con una copertina che la colpi: c'era un giovane prete con i capelli biondi e lunghi, con una faccia simpatica. Si intitolava Dopo di me il diluvio, scritto da David Forrest. La Fiastri ne parlo con entusiasmo a Garinei e Giovannini e insieme coinvolsero il Maestro Trovajoli.
