According to the New York Times, dance legend Twyla Tharp, whose choreography has been seen on Broadway in such shows as Movin' Out and Come Fly Away, is going on the road. The choreographer will celebrate her 50th year in the business with a national tour that will eventually make its way to Lincoln Center on November 22, 2015. The 15-stop tour will feature twelve dancers and new works to the music of Bach, Henry Butler, Steve Bernstein and John Zorn.

The program will also include the premiere of a new 'Lamentation Variation,' choreographed by Winifred Haun, using the creative structure provided by The Martha Graham Center of Contemporary Dance.

High school seniors of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) got the graduation ceremony of their dreams on Saturday, May 18, when Disney Theatrical Group President Thomas Schumacher delivered their commencement address, and the diplomas were presented by 'Mary Poppins' herself: UNCSA alumna Rachel Wallace. From September 20-30, 2012, Houston Ballet presents Women@Art featuring a world premiere by Aszure Barton, the company premiere of Twyla Tharp's The Brahms-Haydn Variations, and the return of Julia Adam's Ketubah, commissioned by Houston Ballet in 2004.
