Bailiwick Chicago Theater to Host CHICAGO CASTING AUCTION, 11/2

Anyone can be a star - for a price! The annual CHICAGO CASTING AUCTION is a unique opportunity for non-professionals to experience the thrill of being on stage in a professionally produced Chicago stage production. Bailiwick Chicago Theater will be auctioning off more than 35 roles for this season's musical production, The Drowsy Chaperone, on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the Dank Haus German American Cultural Center Grand Ballroom, 4740 N. Western Ave. in Chicago. THE CHICAGO CASTING AUCTION will also feature live entertainment, a silent auction, delectable hors d'oeuvres, an open bar with signature cocktails and a professional photo booth to ham it up! Doors open at 6 pm and the Live Auction Event begins at 7:30 pm. Tickets for the Live Auction, priced at $75, are available at www.castingauction.com.

The Orpheum to Screen KING KONG, 9/6

The Orpheum continues its exciting Fall film mini-series with KING KONG on Friday, September 6 at 7:00 PM. Handpicked by Orpheum President and CEO Pat Halloran, this 1933 version of the film will cost patrons only 50 cents per person as homage to the low ticket prices of that time period.

Broadway Producer Gives $10 Million Gift to Carnegie Hall for Studio Towers Renovation

Carnegie Hall today announced that a $10 million major gift from Judith and Burton Resnick will provide important support toward its Studio Towers Renovation Project, a comprehensive undertaking that will create new inspirational spaces for music education on the building's existing upper floors while also fully refurbishing the venue's backstage areas. The project, scheduled to be completed and opened in 2014, will be transformational for Carnegie Hall, creating new facilities designed to make great music accessible to as many people as possible.

A.C.T. MFA Program to Present THE WILD PARTY, NIAGARA FALLS in December

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Conservatory Director Melissa Smithannounced today that the A.C.T. Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) Program will present Andrew Lippa's The Wild Party, taking audiences back in time, capturing the edginess and excitement of the roaring '20s. With a book, music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, the production is directed by Mark Rucker and will play a limited four show engagement. Performances are: December 13 and 14 at 7:30 p.m.; December 15 at 2 & 7:30 p.m. All performances take place at A.C.T.'s Costume Shop (1117 Market Street, San Francisco).
