On Friday, October 30, 2015 from 6:00PM to 7:00PM, Madison Square Park Conservancy will host Luminous Mischief, a free, public performance under artist Teresita Fernandez's Fata Morgana. Fernandez welcomes internationally acclaimed choreographer Stephen Petronio and his company of nine dancers to activate the space of public art with an array of interactions between a citywide assembly of performers and passersby in the Park. Luminous Mischief invites open-ended, free form dance practices into a dynamic public space, blending the power of spontaneous play and the cinematic reflections of pedestrian activity that flicker across Fernandez's artwork. The event will be accompanied by a musical sound score executed by a similarly assembled brass orchestra.

On Thursday, September 17, 2015 from 6:00PM to 7:30PM, Madison Square Park Conservancy will host Poetry Under Fata Morgana, a free, public poetry event showcasing leading voices in spoken word poetry and performance, organized by artist Teresita Fernandez and poet Emanuel Xavier.

This November, Pulitzer Prize-winning composer David Lang begins his season-long Carnegie Hall residency as the 2013-2014 Richard and Barbara Debs Composer's Chair, leading a workshop for young composers and chamber musicians, capped by a concert titledNew Voices, New Music on Wednesday, November 20 at 7:30 p.m. in Zankel Hall. Mr. Lang's music is featured in concert on Saturday, November 23 at 9:00 p.m. in Zankel Hall, when the lauded ensemble So Percussioncollaborates with electronic music duo Matmosand composer-guitarist Bryce Dessner of The National, performing music by Lang plus the world premiere of a Carnegie Hall commission for So by Dessner. Pacific Resident Theatre (Marilyn Fox, Artistic Director) announced today the full cast and creative team for NORA. Stage Adaptation and translation of Henrik Ibsen's play A Doll's House by Ingmar Bergman (Miss Julie, Scenes from a Marriage), English translation by Frederick J. Marker and Lise-Lone Marker, and directed by PRT's Dana Jackson, performances will open on November 10, 2012 through January 27, 2013 with an official press opening on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 8:00p.m. NORA is the second show of Pacific Resident Theatre's 26th season.

Playwrights, actors and directors from across the country will travel to McCall and, working with local artists and students, develop eleven new plays that will be presented to the public free of charge. Amos Vogel (1922-2012) was one of the most influential film programmers of the 20th century, as the co-founder of the avant-garde film club Cinema 16, co-founder of the New York Film Festival, and author of the seminal 1974 book Film as a Subversive Art. From March 16 through 31, 2013, Museum of the Moving Image will present a celebration of Vogel's life's work with a series of sixteen iconic films championed by Vogel in his book. These films elucidate through provocation, joy, and transgression-each one a testimony to the power of cinema and of Vogel's unique vision.

Dia de Reyes (Three Kings' Day) is conceived to travel seamlessly through the golden procession of Fernández's Fata Morgana, the artist's shimmering outdoor exhibition currently on view in Madison Square Park. The performance coincides with the annual July celebration of Carnaval de Santiago de Cuba, one of the largest carnivals in Cuba.

The Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle has announced its nominations and special awards for excellence in Los Angeles and Orange County theatre for the year 2008. The 40th Annual Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards ceremony will take place on Monday, March 16 at the El Portal Theatre, thanks to the generous donation of the El Portal's management. The theatre is located at 5269 Lankershim Blvd in North Hollywood. Tickets are $40; $5 off if purchased in advance via PayPal. National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Chairman Jane Chu announced today that Boise Contemporary Theater is one of 919 nonprofit organizations nationwide to receive an NEA Art Works grant. BCT is recommended for a $10,000 grant to support Fata Morgana by Jeni Mahoney (Jan 28 - Feb 21, 2015).
