Martha Graham Dance Company Launches THE EVE PROJECT

In celebration of the upcoming 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment granting women the power to vote, the Martha Graham Dance Company has created The EVE Project, a two-year initiative, which will be performed at the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts (The Soraya) on Saturday, March 2.

Rose Theatre Kingston and Vanessa Redgrave today announce a work in progress, Vienna 1934 - Munich 1938. Vanessa Redgrave performs on stage with Daisy Bevan, Robert Boulter and Paul Hilton. Opening with a limited run as a Work in Progress, at Rose Theatre Kingston on 7 February until 9 February. Also announced today is An Evening with Vanessa Redgrave hosted by Roger Michell on Saturday 9 February 7.30pm.

The Adelphi Orchestra, Violinist Randall Goosby To Perform Korngold's Triumphant Concert Opus

The Adelphi Orchestra will feature Randall Mitsuo Goosby, Violin (First Prize winner of the Adelphi Orchestra Competition, First Prize winner of the Sphinx Competition ) in the rarely performed and defiantly triumphant Korngold Concerto for Violin in D major, Op. 35. Randall Goosby's performance of the Korngold Violin Concerto will be the centerpiece in a program entitled "From Vienna with Love" which will also feature Strauss's Overture to Die Fledermaus and concludes with the beautiful Symphony no 2 in D major by Brahms. The concert,  conducted by Richard Owen on Sunday October 27th at 7PM will take place at  NYC's historic Good Shepherd - Faith Presbyterian Church located in the heart of Lincoln Center. Kansas City Rep Presents the Classic Drama OF MICE AND MEN

Theater J presents the Washington, DC debut of the  Hershey Felder production of  The Pianist of Willesden Lane, starring internationally-acclaimed storyteller and concert pianist Mona Golabek in a limited engagement at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in the Family Theater. The production is adapted and directed by Hershey Felder and based on the book The Children of Willesden Lane: Beyond the Kindertransport: A Memoir of Music, Love, and Survival by Golabek and Lee Cohen.  Performances are September 12 - 30.

UMS To Present Alec Baldwin In Dramatic Reading Of Arthur Miller's DEATH OF A SALESMAN

The University Musical Society (UMS) will present a dramatic reading of Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman, featuring stage and screen actor Alec Baldwin in the lead role of Willy Loman on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 8 pm in Ann Abor's Power Center (121 Fletcher St). Baldwin will perform alongside student and faculty actors and directors from the University of Michigan's Department of Theatre & Drama. The reading will mark Baldwin's first time in the role. The performance is currently sold out, but those interested in attending can call the UMS Ticket Office at 734.764.2538 to ask to be put on an interest list.

Now about to turn thirteen, La MaMa Moves! Dance Festival, the ever-evolving spring fling of dance that exuberantly commandeers the various theaters of La MaMa each year, takes on yet another challenge in 2018. This year's festival showcases nine artists who take the road less travelled, daring to speak out in new and forceful ways about issues that trouble and inspire them: race, gender, religion, exclusion, each using the body to voice concerns in ways words cannot. Eleven companies, nine performances, including five premieres are on the boards. New this year will be two offsite events: panel discussions about artists and cultural identity, and screenings of rarely-seen films. The 2018 festival runs May 10-June 3.

Enter the world of Anne Frank as told by Eva Schloss, her stepsister and childhood friend. When Germany annexed Austria in 1938, many Jewish families fled Austria to avoid persecution. Among the emigrants was Eva Geiringer, who with her mother, brother and father moved to Belgium and then to Holland, where one of her neighbors was Anne Frank. At the age of eight, Eva became friends with Anne, playing hopscotch and drinking lemonade together.
