Seattle Repertory Theatre today announced complete casting for the 2015 Oliver Award-winning Best New Play, King Charles III, Mike Bartlett's runaway smash hit, a contemporary and provocative comedy drama about Prince Charles' ascension to the throne upon the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth. Cast Announced for Sarah Ruhl's EURYDICE

Director Nicole Hand has announced her cast for Promethean Theatre Ensemble's January production of Sarah Ruhl's Eurydice, a look at the Greek myth of Orpheus through the eyes of his doomed bride, whose voice is typically missing from her own story. Appearing as Eurydice will be Janeane Bowlware (below left),* of Promethean's Bury the Dead, Linchpin's King John and Red Tape'sChurch/Pullman. Her husband Orpheus will be played by Jordan Golding (below right), a recent graduate of Oberlin College who has also studied at the British American Drama Academy in London. BWW Interview: Meghan Jones of RAGTIME at Actors' Repertory Theatre Of Simi

The musical Ragtime, which plays through this Sunday, December 4, at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center, is an important work that weaves actual historical personages into the fabric of its three intersecting stories: an upper-class white family, the African American ragtime pianist Coalhouse Walker Jr., and the Latvian immigrant Tateh. Two of the historical characters in the musical had profound impacts on American political history, which have heightened relevance due to the emotionally charged 2016 election, refocusing attention on matters of race, class, and immigration. This weekend, we interviewed the actors portraying anarchist Emma Goldman and educator/orator Booker T. Washington in the show, which will be featured in advance of this weekend's final performances of this essential work of musical theater. (more...)

TimeLine Theatre Company continues its 20th Anniversary season with a daring new production of A DISAPPEARING NUMBER, the exquisite 2007 play by Complicite about love, math and how the past and future connect. Winner of the 2007 Critics' Circle Theatre, Evening Standard, and Laurence Olivier awards for Best New Play, it was originally conceived and directed by Simon McBurney and devised by the original company.
