Good news! Wicked is back in Sacramento for another three weeks, and the goods just keep getting gooderer. Although Thursday's performance had some very minor technical glitches, the spectacle garnered a standing ovation. The lights, costumes and music supply ample goose bump moments in this "popular" musical.

Denver Center Attractions announces the 2014 recipients for The Bobby G Awards - the Colorado regional awards program for The National High School Musical Theater Awards. Conner Kingsley and Abby Noble, the 2014 Bobby G Award recipients of the Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role and Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role, will represent Colorado at The National High School Musical Theater Awards in New York. Conner Kingsley played Igor in Lakewood High School's production of Young Frankenstein. Abby Noble played Gertrude McFuzz in Grandview High School's production of Seussical.

In 1994, Bette Midler returned to New York after nearly 20 years in Los Angeles, and started the New York Restoration Project, a non-profit organization devoted to bringing abandoned and neglected parks, gardens, and open spaces in all five boroughs back to life. NYRP includes the beautiful New Leaf Cafe in Fort Tryon Park as part of its success, and is committed to helping restore parks and gardens devastated by Hurricane Sandy. The Palace Theatre will close out its 2013-2014 Citizens Bank Performing Arts Series with MY MIXTAPE: The Sounds of the 80s. An original musical production conceived and directed by Artistic Director Carl Rajotte, MY MIXTAPE will explore the music from the 1980s [big hair bands to one-hit wonders] featuring professional singers, musicians and dancers from New York City. Audiences are encouraged to dress in their best parachute pants and relive favorite 80s music memories. Well, it worked on me! 'The Elixir of Love' opened last night at the Opera Theatre of St. Louis, and after only a sip or two I fell head over heels for it. At the end of the evening I was, like Nemorino, giddy (oh, let's admit it, the better word is 'drunk') with happiness and delight. It was simply perfection!

"50 Shades of F****d Up," a new unauthorized musical parody of the international best-selling behemoth "50 Shades of Grey," shutters after playing four weeks on Saturday. Written, directed and choreographed by Tricia Brouk, with original songs by Andrew David Sotomayor, "50 Shades of F****d Up" was heralded as the only unauthorized musical parody of 50 Shades north of Times Square. It began its run at Sophie's at Broadway, 318 West 53rd Street, on Monday May 12. The show's Off-Off-Broadway opening was on Monday May 19.

The Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of Hair, the American Tribal Love-Rock musical, which won the Tony and Drama Desk Award for best revival of a musical in 2009, will star Kristen Bell as Sheila, Hunter Parrish as Claude, Amber Riley as Dionne, Jenna Ushkowitz as Jeanie and Beverly D'Angelo as Mom.
