New Hampshire Theatre Project's second season of Seacoast Sessions continues with master folk musician Jeff Warner. Created in 2018, Seacoast Sessions honors seacoast performers who have regional, national and international reputations.  New Hampshire Theatre Project offers audiences a rare opportunity to see and hear master performing artists in an intimate setting with excellent acoustics, and to learn about their professional histories and how they mastered their craft. Seacoast Sessions is hosted by Kathleen Somssich of WSCA Radio.

Acclaimed lighting designer Clifton Taylor has won a prestigious Knight of Illumination Award in the United Kingdom (KOI-UK). Taylor, whose work has been commissioned on Broadway, off-Broadway, regionally, and in 17 countries outside the United States, won for his design of 'Four Quartets,' based on the poem by T.S. Eliot, which was remounted at the Barbican Theatre in London.

After the immense success of her previous classes, United Solo is bringing back Oscar winner Olympia Dukakis to teach a series of 3 Master Classes on consecutive Fridays starting August 30, 2019 in New York City. This is a rare opportunity to work with Ms. Dukakis over the course of three weeks, developing one's acting skills and receiving her direct feedback. The class series, 'The Importance of Craft,' will teach students to identify and develop what is important to them as performers. Ms. Dukakis will explain how to approach the craft of acting as a personal connection to thoughts, actions, circumstances, and character, as expressed and defined by the text. 'My most important tools when I teach are my own sensibility, my personal perceptions, my knowledge of the craft, and the excitement and satisfaction I always feel with students,' said Ms. Dukakis.

Producers Hunter Arnold, Debbie Bisno and Tom Kirdahy announce today that Terrence McNally's Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune will play its final performance on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street) on Broadway.

During the week of July 14th-20th, Ms. Tyne Daly and more will lead actors in in intensive Master Classes.

The 72nd Annual Tony Awards are this Sunday June 10th at 8/9c hosted by Josh Groban and Sara Bareilles. It's the biggest award show of the Broadway season and it closes out a long awards season for Broadway and Off-Broadway musicals and plays. Playwright, librettist, scriptwriter and outspoken LGBTQ activist Terrence McNally has long believed in the power of the arts to transform society and make a difference. The new documentary American Masters - Terrence McNally: Every Act of Life, premiering nationwide Friday, June 14 at 9 p.m. on PBS (check local listings),pbs.org/americanmasters and the PBS Video app in honor of LGBT Pride Month, lifts the curtain on the life, career and inspirations of the complicated and brilliant Emmy- and four-time Tony Award-winning writer.

The American Film Institute (AFI) announced today the first wave of guest presenters who will celebrate Denzel Washington at the 47th AFI Life Achievement Award on June 6, 2019, at a Gala Tribute in Los Angeles. Chadwick Boseman, Jodie Foster, Jamie Foxx, Morgan Freeman (2011 honoree), Michael B. Jordan, Issa Rae, Julia Roberts and Cicely Tyson will all be in attendance to pay tribute to Washington's life and work. In addition, multitalented film, television and music video artist Melina Matsoukas (AFI Class of 2005) will receive the 2019 Franklin J. Schaffner Alumni Medal, recognizing her extraordinary creative talents.  

The annual Broadway League Awards, honoring excellence and achievement for Touring Broadway, were announced today during the Broadway League's 2019 Spring Road Conference. First presented in 1992, the Broadway League Awards recognize the contributions of those who have displayed exemplary service to the Broadway industry and are considered innovators of their craft.

On Saturday, May 4 only, the new Broadway production of Terrence McNally's Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune will offer 25 tickets (per performance) for $25 each to the 25 preview performances in honor of Terrence McNally's 25 productions on Broadway.

At the El Portal Theatre this May the Troubies return to their roots and take a stab at Shakespeare's perilous historical tragedy Julius Caesar to the music of cult L.A. rock band Weezer.  It could get bloody in NoHo as the Ovation Award winning, Los Angeles-based Troubadour Theater Company presents Julius Weezer, a musical parody directed and adapted by the company's Master of Mayhem and Artistic Director Matt Walker.

A homage to major composers including Richard Wagner, Philip Glass, and Louis Andriessen, an ode to power women such as Harriet Tubman and Sylvia Plath, dozens of pioneering makers and young talent plus a brand-new edition of GALA! Experience all of this and more at the 14th edition of Operadagen Rotterdam. The festival, which comprises over 100 performances, both in Rotterdam's large theatres and in unexpected locations across the city, runs from 17 through 26 May. California School of the Arts - San Gabriel Valley (CSArts-SGV), in partnership with founding campus Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA), hosts a master class with acclaimed violinist Martin Chalifour, as part of the Master Artist Series. Students from each school's Instrumental Music Conservatory perform for Chalifour and receive expert coaching and instruction. An additional 150 students from both schools observe to learn from the renowned concertmaster and their peers.

The Cincinnati Arts Association (CAA) is proud to present the 2019 Overture Awards Finals Competition. The Overture Awards provides $4,000 to six area high school students for education and training expenses, with eighteen finalists each winning $1,000. The program also provides a $2,500 Arts Educator Award for Excellence in Arts Instruction.

The Broadway community mourns the loss of Carol Channing, a Tony Award winner and theatrical legend, who passed away on Tuesday, January 15 at age 97. To commemorate her life and work, the Committee of Theatre Owners will dim the lights of Broadway theatres in New York for one minute on Wednesday, January 16 at exactly 7:45pm. 

BroadwayWorld is deeply saddened to report the passing of the legendary Carol Channing. Channing died at 12:31am on Tuesday, January 15th, 2019, at home in Rancho Mirage, CA of natural causes.

The Maggie Allesee Department of Theatre and Dance, a program within the College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts at Wayne State University, is thrilled to kick off our year-long 90 Years of Dance at Wayne celebration with the annual December Dance Concert, December 7 and 8 at Detroit's Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts.  This year's show promises diverse and moving works showcasing highlights of dance through the decades. Dance students have the pleasure of working with a variety of talented artists, including invited guests, esteemed faculty, and talented student choreographers.
