The hit West End production of Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, directed by Sam Mendes, announced today that it has extended its booking period by six months until 1 November 2014. The show had previously been booking until 31 May 2014. The production, which has so far been seen by almost 300,000 people since it began previews in May 2013, is extending its run due to popular demand, releasing almost 400,000 extra tickets.

Chris Isaacson Presents and Upright Cabaret have announced that Keith David will join Broadway diva and Tony Award-winner Lillias White's new show, A WOMAN ON LOVE, at the Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood tonight. There will be two performances only, on Mondays, June 3 and 10 at 8:30pm, with cocktail and dinner service beginning at 6:30pm. The June 10 show also marks the second anniversary of The Night After The Tonys, a tradition begun in 2012 by Ms. White and Upright Cabaret.

13 year-old Joshua-James Thomas from Harrow and 12 year-old Michael Matias from Leystonstone this month join the cast of the West End hit musical The Bodyguard as the show enters its new booking period. Performing alongside Tony and Grammy Award winner Heather Headley and Lloyd Owen who lead the cast as Rachel Marron and Frank Farmer respectively, Thomas and Matias take on the role of Fletcher, Rachel's young son. They will alternate the role with original cast members 11 year-old Taylor Lockhart and 10 year-old Malaki Paul.

Now, Disney Theatrical Productions has confirmed that Aladdin, a new musical based on the Academy Award winning animated film, will play its pre-Broadway engagement at Toronto's Ed Mirvish Theatre(formerly the Canon) November 13, 2013 to January 12, 2014 and will open at Broadway's New Amsterdam Theatre in 2014. The show will feature music by Alan Menken; lyrics by the late Howard Ashman, Tim Rice and Chad Beguelin with a book by Beguelin. Casey Nicholaw will direct and choreograph.

Today, Michael Riedel fills in a few more blanks in the New York Post, including word that producer Robert Fox has signed on, as well as director Richard Eyre (the National Theater, Mary Poppins). The show is next headed for a reading in London next week, followed by a summertime presentation at Lloyd Webber's annual Sydmonton Festival if all goes well. Riedel also adds that the composer wants Julian Ovenden (last seen in Death Takes a Holiday), to star.

Since opening in 2004, its first full year at the Gershwin Theatre, WICKED has remained at the top of the Broadway grosses.
