Celebration Theatre in association with Calvin Remsberg presents the second show of their 2009-2010 season, the American premiere of FUCKING MEN. FUCKING MEN is written by Joe DiPietro and will be directed by Calvin Remsberg. FUCKING MEN will preview on Wednesday, September 9 and Thursday, September 10 at 8pm and open on Friday, September 11 and run through Sunday, October 25 at Celebration Theatre, 7051B Santa Monica Blvd. in Hollywood.

Old Globe Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced the complete cast and creative team for the world premiere of Sammy, a new musical based on the life of Sammy Davis, Jr. with book, music and lyrics by Leslie Bricusse, and additional songs by Bricusse and Anthony Newley. Directed by Keith Glover with choreography by Keith Young and music supervision by Ian Fraser, Sammy will run in the Old Globe Theatre Sept. 19 - Nov. 8. Previews run from Sept. 19 - Oct. 1. Opening night is Oct. 2 at 8:00 p.m.

Gerard Alessandrini (creator, writer and director) and Philip George (director) will bring their multi-award winning satirical musical, FORBIDDEN BROADWAY, for a limited run only at the Menier Chocolate Factory from 25 June to 13 September, with press night on 02 July. The show, which last month wrapped up its record-breaking 27-year run in New York makes its first visit to London in 10 years.

The singular images of master illustrator Edward Gorey will inspire the New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players' City Center season this January as they mount a new production of the rarely produced G&S classic Ruddigore, a supernatural opera with a Harry Potterish plot, to be performed in rotation with the big three all-time G&S favorites: The Pirates of Penzance, H.M.S. ACT 1, one of Nashville's oldest community theatre groups, staged the Gilbert & Sullivan classic The Mikado as the first production of its 20th anniversary season. Running August 7-22, The Mikado was directed by Bob Fish, with music direction by Lee Druce, the cast featured Francine Berk, Whitney Rose Cone, Steven Luboniecki, Valerie Navarre, James Rudolph, Daniel Sadler, Vicki White, John Wilson, L.T. Kirk, Amber Boyer, Megan Hunt, Jamie Janiszewski, Brenda Jones, Tricia Musser, Becca Nelson, Andrew Drumheller, Jamie Helms, Josh Matthews, Danny Proctor and Daniel Vincent. The show was produced by Donald Powell, Jennifer Rybolt and Sue Stinemetz.

It was announced earlier this month that the new musical VANITIES will receive an original cast album. The three-woman cast of the show, which recently performed its New York premiere Off-Broadway at Second Stage Theatre, headed into studio yesterday to record the album for Sh-K-Boom Records.
