On Wednesday, Jan 14th following the 8 pm performance of IN THE HEIGHTS - Ghostlight Records and ITH hosted a 'Grammy Night' Talkback. 100 Grammy University students as well as the Grammy board came to see the show and talk with the Tony winning creative team. The IN THE HEIGHTS album is nominated this year in the Best Musical Show Album. Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda lead the talk along with Alex Lacaimore and Bill Sherman, also Tony winners for their work on the show. IN THE HEIGHTS opened to critical acclaim, going on to win four 2008 Tony Awards (Best Musical, Best Score, Best Choreography, Best Orchestrations), and garnering a 2008 Grammy Award nomination for the original cast album. In November, 2008, Universal Pictures acquired the rights to produce a feature film based on IN THE HEIGHTS. The news of a 2009 GRAMMY Nomination for Best Musical Show Album, for their double-CD release of 'In The Heights' (already a Tony Award Winner for Best Musical and Best Score,) capped a dominant year for Ghostlight Records.

Kevin McCollum, Jeffrey Seller and Jill Furman, the lead producers of the 2008 Tony Award-winning Best Musical IN THE HEIGHTS, announced today in a statement the recoupment of the show's $10 million investment after running only 10 months (337 performances) since opening on Broadway Sunday, March 9, 2008, at the Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 West 46th Street).

35 students from the five boroughs will attend the 7pm performance of the 2008 Tony Award-winning best musical IN THE HEIGHTS at the Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 West 46th Street). Over the past year R.Evoluci?n Latina has been hosting workshops for New York City students to introduce them to the transformative powers of the performing arts. 35 students have been chosen from the past year's various R.Evoluci?n Latina educational workshops to attend their first Broadway show and meet the cast. At 6pm, the students will participate in a pre-show meet and greet and talk-back with the cast.

IN THE HEIGHTS is the winner of four 2008 Tony Awards including Best Musical. The New York City Council will honor the 2008 Tony Award-winning Best Musical IN THE HEIGHTS with a special Proclamation. Speaker Christine Quinn and NYC Councilmember Miguel Martinez and Councilmember Robert Jackson will present the Proclamation to IN THE HEIGHTS' producer Jill Furman and composer/leading actor Lin-Manuel Miranda for the show's success in introducing millions of people to the vibrant neighborhood and its residents situated at the top of the island of Manhattan. IN THE HEIGHTS will receive Actors' Equity Association Advisory Committee on Chorus Affairs (ACCA) Second Annual ACCA Award for Outstanding Broadway Chorus. This award honors the distinctive talents and contributions made by the chorus of a Broadway musical.

On Tuesday, September 16th Barnes & Noble Lincoln Square store hosted performances and a CD signing by the cast of 2008 Tony Award-winning Best Musical In The Heights. The performance was followed by a CD signing. Barnes & Noble at Lincoln Square is located at 1972 Broadway at 66th Street.
