York Theatre Company and its Developmental Reading Series presents the reading of the new musical, Howling Hilda, with book and lyrics by Anne Berlin, and music by Andrew Bleckner will be directed by Valentina Fratti, with music direction by Timothy Splain, and featuring Mary Testa. The reading, free and open to the public with a reservation, is set for one-performance only on Tuesday, March 12th at 7:30 p.m. at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (Entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).

Hollywood Pinafore was originally produced in 1945. THE MUSICAL OF MUSICALS: THE MUSICAL, an affectionate spoof of the musical genre, is one of the hits of the 2013 Toronto Fringe Festival. The show began a seven-performance run on July 3 to an ecstatic crowd at the Factory Theatre that greeted it with a rousing standing ovation. Critic Glenn Sumi of Now Magazine was in the opening crowd and declared the show the festival's first hit of 2013. He gave it a 4-star review, predicting that the show would quickly sell out -- which it did on its second showing on July 6.

The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Andrew Levine, Executive Director) will host aspecial gala event featuring several numbers from the Richard Rodgers Award-winning new musical in development, Buddy's Tavern, with book by Raymond DeFelitta, lyrics by Alison Louise Hubbard, and music by Kim Oler. The institutional fundraising event is set for TONIGHT, August 5 at the Alexandre Gertsman Contemporary Art Gallery (652 Broadway, 2nd Floor, between Bleecker and Bond Streets). Portion of the proceeds collected by the Gertsman Gallery will be donated to The York Theatre Company.
