According to his official website, Jim Steinman is busy working on lyrics for a new musical version of The Nutcracker. Titled Nutcracked, the musical will feature the classic music by Tchaikovsky with arrangements by Steven Margoshes. The show will include a book penned by Terry Jones.

When the 2010 Season of the Showboat Majestic opens on May 5th it will make 20 years aboard the floating National Historic Landmark for the staff of Cincinnati Landmark Productions, the producers for this unique, venerable theatre.
Rehearsals begin today, Monday, April 5 for the World Premiere production of PARADISE FOUND, a new musical under the combined direction of Theater legend and 21-time Tony Award winner Harold Prince (the original productions of Cabaret, Sweeney Todd, A Little Night Music, The Phantom of the Opera, Company, Follies, Evita) and 5-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman (Crazy For You, Show Boat, The Producers, Contact). Auditions began this weekend for the next star of the West End, as Andrew Lloyd Webber launched his search for the next Dorothy in his upcoming production of the Wizard of Oz. The lucky leading lady will be selected over the course of a several week 'audition' process on the BBC1 reality television show Over the Rainbow. Webber's official website reveals that hundreds of potential candidates headed to the Glasgow town of Hampden to be among the first to audition.
