How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying - 1963 - US Tour History , Info & More

Based on How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying by Shepherd Mead

Before there was "Mad Men," there was this Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award- winning musical where power, sex, ambition, and greed are all in a day's work at the office. A window washer climbs the corporate ladder with the help of a trusty manual, but when the boss's arrogant nephew attacks, and the book doesn't have the answer, he'll have to depend on his own wit and creativity to survive. "It stings mischievously and laughs uproariously" - The NY Times

BWW Review: SE MEU APARTAMENTO FALASSE... (Promises, Promises) Brings Bacharach-David's Smart Pop Music and the Wry Humor of Neil Simon to Sao Paulo.
by Claudio Erlichman - Jan 24, 2018

Burt Bacharach and Hal David, whose pop songs pretty much defined the mid-to-late 1960s and early 1970s, only wrote one Broadway show, Promises, Promises. There may have been many reasons for the success of the show. With stellar turns by Marcelo Medici as the big-corporation employee whose idea on how to get ahead in business consists of lending his bachelor apartment to his married bosses, and by Malu Rodrigues as the cafeteria waitress with whom he falls in love even though she is having an affair with the personnel director, and with Alonso Barros in charge of choreography and Claudio Botelho & Charles M eller directing, the musical proves that it is still as fresh and vibrant as it was when it was first created, opening in Brazil now, 50 years after his debut on Broadway.

by Don Grigware - May 19, 2015

On Sunday May 17 at Catalina Jazz Club renowned actress/singer Michele Lee made her Los Angeles cabaret debut. Why has it taken this long? She takes her one-woman show Catch the Light on the road regularly and recently played 54 Below in NYC, but has never played a club in her hometown of LA. Well, it's high time, and the packed house agreed as the four-piece orchestra played the Beatles' 'Michelle, my belle...' as Lee was introduced to thunderous applause. She made her way through the audience singing the powerhouse 'Feeling Good', and with a combination of incredible drive and energy, an uber strong vocal style and sheer sauciness and personal sass, Lee's conquest of the room was guaranteed.
