Stage director Brenna Corner notes that the 1964 Hamlet on Broadway directed by Richard Burton inspired her to do this black-and-white film production and use it to communicate the opera’s basic premise. Corner says she intended to emphasize the drama.

Harlem School Of The Arts At The Herb Alpert Center Readies For A 9.5-Million Dollar Revitalization Project

The 55-year-old Harlem School of the Arts(HSA) at the Herb Alpert Center, today announced the start of a major construction project that will significantly transform the 37,000 square foot facility, located at 645 St. Nicholas Avenue. Work on what is being called, The Renaissance Project, will take a full year to complete and is scheduled to begin in August.
