Seattle Repertory Theatre is thrilled to announce that the runaway hit musical COME FROM AWAY has officially become the highest grossing show in the history of Seattle Repertory Theatre. On the heels of a one-week extension announcement, COME FROM AWAY has set this record on only day 20 of a 38 day engagement.

COME FROM AWAY also posted the largest single ticket sales day in the history of Seattle Rep on November 20, a record the show has broken nine times since. Scheduled to run until December 20, COME FROM AWAY absolutely must close on this date.

"We are so thrilled with Seattle's overwhelmingly enthusiastic response to COME FROM AWAY," said Seattle Rep Managing Director Jeffrey Herrmann. "And I am particularly pleased to see how many new patrons this show is drawing through the doors of Seattle Rep."

An original, folk rock-infused world-premiere musical, COME FROM AWAY is based on a true story. September 11, 2001 was an ordinary day in isolated Gander, Newfoundland -- until it wasn't. Thirty-eight planes were diverted to its doorstep on that fateful day, making this small town unexpected hosts to an international community. The camaraderie that followed reminds us of the power that comes from opening up your heart and your home.

COME FROM AWAY is written by Irene Sankoff and David Hein and directed by Christopher Ashley, and is presented by Seattle Repertory Theatre in association with La Jolla Playhouse.

Tickets to COME FROM AWAY are now on sale and start at $17. Discounted tickets for groups of 10 or more may be purchased by calling 206-443-2224. For ticket reservations, call the Seattle Repertory Theatre Box Office at 206-443-2222 or toll-free at 877-900-9285, or go online at www.seattlerep.org.

Seattle Repertory Theatre was founded in 1963 and is currently led by Artistic Director Braden Abraham and Managing Director Jeffrey Herrmann. One of America's premier non-profit resident theatres, Seattle Repertory Theatre has achieved international renown for its consistently high production and artistic standards, and was awarded the 1990 Tony Award for Outstanding Regional Theatre. With an emphasis on entertaining plays of true dramatic and literary worth, Seattle Rep produces a season of plays along with educational programs, new play workshops and special presentations.
