PlayGround has announced the full lineup for its 27th annual FESTIVAL OF NEW WORKS, running May 8-28, in-person at Potrero Stage, where the festival has been based since 2008, and simulcast online.
TheatreWorks Silicon Valley announced its 52nd season, featuring six plays and musicals to be presented November 2022 through August 2023. Three of the season's productions will be mounted at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, and three will be staged at Palo Alto's Lucie Stern Theatre. Subscriptions are now available; single tickets will be available in the coming months at TheatreWorks.org.

This season, TheatreFIRST gets intimate. While our home at the Live Oak Theater is being renovated, this season will be held at our new black box space, The Waterfront Playhouse at 2020 Fourth St. in Berkeley.
Central Works summer season continues with Christina Gorman's political thriller, Roan @ The Gates, opening July 20 and running through August 18 (previews July 18 & 19). The production is directed by M. Graham Smith, positing in Gorman's words "If our government can access information from your present or your past, they can use it to get you to do what they want. What's being collected and stored is not information, it's leverage."
TheatreFIRST announces a new production to start off 2019. Debuting in February will be THE LAST SERMON OF SISTER IMANI, written by Cleavon Smith. Smith penned TheatreFIRST's 2016 production of VS. and 2018's JUST ONE DAY: A story of Martin Luther King's legacy, a one act play from BETWEEN US. He was also one of the co-facilitators for TheatreFIRST's most recent production of THE PEOPLE'S HISTORY OF NEXT. Michael Gene Sullivan is slated to direct THE LAST SERMON OF SISTER IMANI. He is a recent teacher of the T1U Playwright track and this will be his first turn as director for TheatreFIRST.
