The Book of Mormon in Broadway THE BOOK OF MORMON
San Diego Civic Theatre
The Book of Mormon is a religious satire musical with book, lyrics, and music by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez, and Matt Stone. Best known for creating the animated comedy South Park, Parker and Stone co-created the music with Lopez, who co-wrote and co-composed Avenue Q. The show lampoons organized religion and traditional musical theatre, reflecting the creators' lifelong fascination with Mormonism and musicals. The Book of Mormon tells the story of two young Mormon missionaries sent to a remote village in northern Uganda, where a brutal warlord is threatening the local population. Naive and optimistic, the two missionaries try to share the Book of Mormon, one of their scriptures-which only one of them has read-but have trouble connecting with the locals, who are more worried about war, famine, poverty, and AIDS than about religion.

<a href=Richard Thomas as Tennessee Williams in A Distant Country Called Youth in Broadway" border="0" bheight="100" width="100" align="right"> RICHARD THOMAS AS TENNESSEE WILLIAMS IN A DISTANT COUNTRY CALLED YOUTH
The Old Globe
For one night only, acclaimed stage and screen actor Richard Thomas ("The Americans," "The Waltons") brings to vibrant life one of the giants of American dramatic literature, playwright Tennessee Williams. Spanning Williams's life from his seminal younger years in St. Louis to the successful Broadway opening of The Glass Menagerie more than 20 years later, this illuminating one-man show weaves together his casual love affairs, tormented family relationships, exotic travels, brushes with the rich and famous, and his eventful early career. This was the raw material that Williams fashioned into theatrical masterpieces like A Streetcar Named Desire, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and Suddenly Last Summer. At turns humorous, poignant, and highly personal, A Distant Country Called Youth reveals Williams as a writer as poetic and passionate in his letters as he was in his masterworks.

We Are Not A Glum Lot IV in Broadway WE ARE NOT A GLUM LOT IV
AVO Playhouse
"We Are Not A Glum Lot started as something to do, a challenge, and it "still is." It has evolved into a great comedy show. There are those who do insist on having a good time and showing others how we go about it WITHOUT alcohol or drugs - it's kinda like our primary purpose. "Who will be the first to say LOUDLY God doesn't have a Sense of Humor!" - careful, He or She could be listening! For the price we charge (cheap!) we bring in the best stand-up comedians around; they do this knowing there could be some newcomers in the audience. The people of North County still treat our guests well. As a result of this, every one of the comedians - starting with Bob Perkell (congrats on baby!), to Steve Smith, Ron Person, John DiCrosta, Kristin Key, and Kenny Bob Davis - have gone way above the mark of rib-hurting, eyes-watering laughter one has not heard or felt in a long time. They all bring long term abstinence and positive long-term lifestyle changes with them. This year should be no different; we are proud to feature these professional comedians in the line-up: Welcome Bob Murphy to the family, who has appeared on Comedy Central, Comedy Time TV, and stand-up comedy all over town. We are lucky to bring back Kristin Key (Last Comic Standing, Comics Unleashed). And a lot of people's favorite, Kenny Bob Davis: actor ("Gremlins", "Murder She Wrote"), writer, and singer. He has toured with Vince Gill, Willie Nelson, opened for Kenny Rogers...the list keeps going. And this year we're featuring pre-show live entertainment music on stage.

Re-Designing Women in Broadway RE-DESIGNING WOMEN
Diversionary Theatre
Plagued by the faltering economy, Atlanta-based Sugarbaker Design Firm is on the brink of collapse when vapid ex-beauty queen Suzanne has an idea to save the business by pitching a reality show to Andy Cohen, the hot-shot producer from the BRAVO network. Soon camera crews are following the antics of the four Southern belles, their ex-con delivery man Anthony, and their daffy family friend Bernice. The producers get more than they bargain for with plenty zany footage of Julia's highly-charged tirades, MaryJo's cocktail-infused, tell-all testimonials, and Charlene's hillbilly, down-home, there's-got-to-be-a-point-to-these-stories. Soon their world is turned upside down with infighting and jealousy as everyone gets a taste of fame and fortune that could ruin their perfect sitcom existence. "Re-Designing Women" does not incorporate actual episodes; rather, Morris puts his original twist, a current, up-t0-date look on the beloved sitcom -which has been off the air from 21 years - with cameos from some of today's hottest reality show stars.
