The Schoolhouse Theater Presents Brian Friel’s Masterpiece Faith Healer, Starring Victor Slezak and Directed by Artistic Director Owen Thompson

Croton Falls, NY — The Schoolhouse Theater is thrilled to announce its upcoming production of Brian Friel’s hauntingly beautiful play Faith Healer, starring the renowned Victor Slezak in the title role. Directed by the theater’s Artistic Director, Owen Thompson, Faith Healer will run from December 6 through December 22, bringing this Irish masterpiece to life in an intimate and unforgettable setting.

Considered one of the great works of modern theater, Faith Healer explores the mysteries of memory, faith, and identity through the powerful story of Frank Hardy, an itinerant healer, and the complex figures who orbit his life. Told through a series of interconnected monologues, the play offers a fascinating blend of perspectives on the same tragic events, leaving audiences to grapple with questions about the nature of truth and the ways we construct our realities.

In this production, Victor Slezak’s portrayal of Frank Hardy promises a mesmerizing performance that captures the enigmatic essence of Friel’s character. Known for his powerful stage presence, Slezak will lead an exceptional cast through Friel’s poetic narrative, under the direction of Owen Thompson, who brings his distinctive vision and depth to the piece. Together, Thompson and Slezak will explore the themes of isolation, longing, and the intangible lines between memory and myth, creating a powerful experience for theatergoers. The estimable Michael Daly and Elisabeth S. Rodgers complete a stellar cast.
