The Players at Barker Theater present Henry & Roy at the Weaver Library on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 7pm.

This powerful one-man show, written by Charles Sweigart and produced by Marisa de Santis, is free and open to all. Sweigart recorded his ninety-year old father reminiscing about his participation in the
Normandy Invasion. Realizing his father’s anecdotes had strong similarities to passages
in Shakespeare’s “Henry the Fifth,” he perused this and other plays of Shakespeare, and found parallels in stories 529 years apart.

Henry & Roy poignantly speaks to the relevance between Shakespeare’s commentary on war
and a ninety-year old gunner/radioman’s memories of D-Day while moving seamlessly between 1415, 1944, and 2001.
